Heist...Im out again !
" character progression being complex is fine them coming up with complex league mechanics for the sake of them being complex isn't people want to have fun playing in a new league not have to go through multiple websites in order to understand it |

"IMO Leagues have actually been better about being more intuitive without the need of a website lately since Betrayal and Synthesis, and even then Betrayal mostly because it is nice to have a chart of what each member does. |

" Don't get me wrong, I loved Poe for its complexity and depth. The skill tree, the skill gem interaction, you name it. But now they just keep on bringing new mechanics to the game that simply do not belong in it. It's an overkill. They made the game as dumb as possible by introducing a crapton of powercreep and now instead of introducing new fun gameplay mechanics they just introduce this new mini games that don't make sense at all in a fast paced environment like Poe is. What GGG does is stealing a bunch of ideas from other games, bringing it to Poe but in a very poorly optimized way with a bunch of bugs and unbalanced content. So my point is, the gameplay is crap and the complex mechanics they keep introducing like harvest, betrayal, synthesis do nothing to make the actual gameplay any more engaging. It's fake complexity. I mean, they added literally a farmville mechanics to the game where you grow your plants. In an ARPG where everything dies with a light of speed. Let that sink in for a second. It's absolutely clear GGG doesn't know what to do with their game anymore. They fucked up the game and refuse to unfuck it. |

i don't think that "heist" mechanics are complex.
i just think it sort-of goes against the philosophy of what an ARPG is meant to be. but then again, i don't know squat. maybe it'll be good? maybe it'll be an interesting spin. won't know 'till it drops, right? ooh! 'member when PoE was good and fun? i 'member!

I started with Domination League, and I also did Ambush, but I think I've only played Standard since. I've liked a couple of the league stuff that trickled in, like Bestiary and Metamorph, and pretty much actively avoid everything else.
I hate everything about Betrayal and Blight, I find Delve to be extremely tedious and buggy but pretty rewarding, and I've only managed to find like two Delirium things after running like 200 maps when it was added before I stopped playing. I came back to check out the ice brand skill, and it was a lot of fun but I stopped playing again after that. Now Heist looks pretty cool, cool enough to have been a separate game entirely. How well it ends up integrating into THIS game remains to be seen. I'm mainly interested in the black hole spell. I only like cold and chaos spells ._. |

If i rememember correctly there are like 9 special abilities and each npc has 3.
Just create 3 teams for Great Heist that cover all 9 abilities and for regular heist focus on lvling members from one team (pick member that offer best result for current heist). Done Last edited by karoollll2534#2874 on Sep 7, 2020, 1:23:10 AM

" Well, again; I have to disagree. What you are (more or less) saying here, is that every league should be very 'light' on mechanics, focusing on more 'fun', and in you eyes, 'fun' is not deep/new/different gameplay mechanics? Anyhow, GGG knows very well what they are doing. They know they have to capture the interest, focus and curiosity of players that have played PoE for years. A new monster or pack here and there, dropping some new loot just aren't enough for a lot of players to sink their teeth into. There are just so many ways they can make a boss different. There are just so many ways they can make a pack feel different. But there are a lot of ways to make gameplay feel different. Now, do GGG experiment? Yes, from time to time they do. And I love that it's room for that here. I love that one league feels totally different from another, and for that to be possible, they need to think beyond just more monsters and more loot. They need to make every league FEEL different. 'Fun' for me IS new systems to figure out. New gameplay to sink my teeth into. New shit to learn. Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

" Well that was the fastest knee jerk reaction post removal to a silly joke that I have ever seen, I guess you got eyes everywhere huh GGG. Well i'll word my ridicule more politely this time then instead of using excellent wit and comedy. AHEM @OP; You may not enjoy leagues where you actually have to engage your brain, but claiming that you are in the majority about your feelings with no supporting evidence is laughable at best. Just because all you want from a league is to smash monsters and collect the shiny things that drop on the floor, that doesn't mean most players don't appreciate actual content to play when a new league hits. You can shout and scream about streamer privilege, and uh, your "other problems" as much as you want, but the burden of providing proof for that falls on you. And seeing as the forum mods deemed my far side comic illegal, here's a more verbose gif to round things off. ![]() Souls along a conduit of blood, from one vessel to the next.

" Sure hope so, won't have much time this league with a new job on the horizon. ~ Please separate the PoE1 and PoE2 forums.
