Is It Possible To Fix Gaming Toxicity?
" This logic is unspeakably bad. Victim-blaming at its finest. If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.

Gaming toxicity isn't a bug, it's a feature, especially Competitive online games. Heck, especially the esports! Defeats equates to losses, losses evokes strong emotions, strong emotions lead to overtly hostile communities.

" But he is right. World is not safe space. There comes time when you have to pull balls out of moms purse and deal with it. [Removed by Support] In the past people would just say "F.. You" and move on, now everyone have the need to be offended. Be offended, nobody cares, nothing happens besides that. |

" Informing people on how to protect themselves is not victim blaming, no more so than advising people to lock their doors and to not accept drugs from people they don't trust. The wrongdoer is still the person being toxic, or breaking in, or giving shady drugs, but the victim in all cases still was fully able to do something else to prevent what happened, even if the perpetrator could, and should, not do it in the first place. Pretending a victim has a total lack of agency is insulting and incentivizes a total refusal of self accountability, relying entirely on the (often not so) good nature of others. The world sucks, and that fact sucks, but you should try to the best of your abilities to make it suck less for yourself. There's no powercreep here. Creep implies it's slow and could be overlooked, this is a full out sprint.
