Many leagues ago, back in the times of instant-leech Vaal Pact and the old Masters, I had a Glacial Hammer Berserker and was trying desperately to hit a higher level without dying and losing my EXP.

I did a Maze map, which was something like a T14 back then and quite difficult, and ran into Tora early on. I activated her mission without thinking much about it, and somehow managed to hit pretty much every dead end imaginable on my way to the map boss.

The final room was filled to the brim with enemies, including the Oversoul and a few packs of Tora monsters. It was a nutty fight for an unoptimized Glacial Hammer build (keep in mind this was before Ancestral Call even existed!) but things were going in my favor. That is, until I killed the last Tora monster and Tora herself teleported into the fray.

I attempted to attack the Oversoul but misclicked and selected Tora instead. I literally said "Tora no!" as I was locked in conversation for a brief moment - just long enough to get hit square by the Oversoul's wind-up slam, which of course one-shotted me.

It was so ridiculous I couldn't manage to be upset. In post-Betrayal leagues I still run across Tora and think to myself "Tora no!" during the fight. Good times!

My favorite memories were Pre-Lab. Everything after that was down hill. That's why I play Last Epoch now.

Ho ho hoo, long time past and yet it feels just like it was yesterday when I started with PoE.

I remember the time back in 2012-2013 when I eagerly awaited the next release of the long abandoned Diablo series. Oh and how sad and angry and outrageous I became when I saw the preview in-game shots from it. Oh man! That day, the D3 died for me eternaly. I coulnd't look at it without seeing the merged WoW and WC aspects, like the inventory, the colours, overall engine and "action bar"...
all wrong, just absolutely all... my days were full of misery, a decade of awaiting the next Diablo title perished into dust.
I knew back then about Torchlight and it was fine, but it was not dark enough, still felt like a kid's toy. Sacred was fine, but still it was missing something, also the Titan Quest, NOX, Dungeon Siege, etc.etc.etc. each of them was good, but still missed something that Diablo series had.
One day, one of my D2 friends mentioned me some Closed Beta game, called weirdly some Path of Exile. He told me look I have a Beta code if you wanna, you can try it, play on my profile if you want, see wether you gonna like it or nada.

I have read the whole website, especialy the ETHIC POLICY you had back on then OH MAN! That was something that really got my attention, my heart, my soul, my loyalty. I think I still have the screenshot from them somewhere burried in my PC.

I remember the days of KIWI supporter packs!
and the insane amount that was needed to pay for the Diamond Kiwi, ... it's still forming a smile on my face when I see nowadays the most costy packs and how ppl QQ about the amount of money they "need" to pay for it today :D compared to those 10k $ back then ... priceless ♥

I remember the Open Beta anouncement, the countdown, the hype in the world that followed after weeks and months.

I remember the introduction of Act 2
then Act 3
the frustration from my PC how I could not beat Dominus, since it kept crashing :D
On and the Servers instability, makes me always laught when nowadays ppl QQ about server lags :D YOU HAVE NO IDEA FOLKS :D
I remember how I sworn that I never gonna bump money into this game. I had no understanding back then how can ppl spent money on the supporter packs, for what and why, it was all free content. How times changed! :D

I remember the marvelous brilliant and still even nowadays hated and cursed upon LABYRINTH. OH that precious creation of yours GGG! An absolute masterpiece on it's own. It could be a game by itself! ♥ THANK YOU! ♥ :)
The idea of traps, dungeon, puzzles, gauntlets, treasure chests, hidden rooms, DARK SHRINES! oh man. and the LAYOUT, the theme, the design, the templates... just ♥

Oh and the Dark Shrines, OH MAN! I miss the thrill of the unknown, of the lucky blessing or ugly damnation debuff :)
Ppl nowadays QQ that they did not got a good buff from them :D
YOU HAVE NO IDEA what a really not good "buff" from a DS is! :D :D

Oh and the absolute gem of all... HIDEOUTS.
a blast to mind for many. Just like the Labyrinth, the Hideouts by themselves are a masterpiece alone. ♥ LUV YA MONS @GGG! ♥
I remember the anouncement of them, my jaw just kept fallin down, to be able to have my own spot, place, and I can furniture it by my likings? NO WAY!
A D R E A M came true! ♥

The maps, the expansions, the rework of storyline, the new cloak physics, water effects, the league rewards, MTX sets, the Hideout's overhaul and all the many new DECORATIONS added recently, the introduction of official trade website, etc. etc. ♥

And the stunning DELVE!
jeeez... another blast, another masterpiece by itself. a game within a game on it's own.

There is many many more, all the progress, all your effort you put into this game, despite all the QQ moaning in the forums/web from many players, and you still keep doing, still keep pushing the limits, and blowing our minds away!



Oh, and... did I mentioned yet, YOU STILL KEPT YOUR WORD! your PROMISE, your ETHICAL POLICY, despite it's not already on the website.
This game is still COMPLETELY FREE.

it keeps me always to have a good time when someone new to poe sees it for the 1st time and is just like WHAT THE HELL IS DAAAAT! :D ♥

I remember the thousands of hours I did not find a mirror.

Good times.

One of the most memorable for me personally was, way back when the game had 3 difficulties and Piety was annihilating people left and right, I farmed that area for a month straight, stopping just before piety, all to earn 20 exalts, the cost of a 1000 HP Kaom's Heart.

I got it, and then a month later, I was leveling a random new character, and just before act 3 piety... A random 1000 HP kaom's heart dropped.

I think I later sold it for like 40 exalts.
But there was no way I could have known the 1000 HP Kaom's would be removed, so at the time, 40 ex was a fair price.

I guess realizing that this game was not going to be a short time waster I was currently looking for, but my new main game.

I played TF2 for years, then DOTA 2 for years after that, but hated how I became playing DOTA 2, so ended up getting into Hearthstone one night while I was using the bathroom.

Really started to tire of Hearthstone, so remembered how much I loved D2 as a kid. Played the free part of D3, but didn't want to pay for D3. Ended up finding POE and thought it could scratch my itch till I found another main game.

Been here since essence league and still having lots of fun. Love how for the most part the devs are super transparent and actually seem to care about what the players think.

Oh, having a headhunter drop from the tower boss from Awaken level 8 last league was a pretty crazy moment too.

I have bin playing since open beta back then soul taker was quite expensive.Anyway one drops for me in some random low level map.I was pumped I post it on the trade forum for 32ex.The next day A guy sends me a msg "I dont have the 32 ex would you take 7 eternal orbs" I think about it for a min and like well they go for 4.5 ex each so sounds like a fair price and take the deal.I still have afew of those eternals and I think about that trade still.


I miss ledge runs pugs where a thing then lot of great times there.Had a gmp gem drop on one off those runs back then they where like 1-2 ex each I grab it and log.

Then during legacy league I was running a low level jungle valley and had my first Mirror ever dropped.


*** Now worst memory I sold a legacy kaom's heart for 90ex seemed like a great deal then since I bought it for 80ex like 2 weeks before.Wish I had that one back.

Back in open beta it was just a common gem.

I used to be so afraid of Vaal Oversoul back in the day. When act 3 came out I was playing with some randoms and one died from the bear trap guy while running to Act 3 then the rest of them died from Piety in the crematorium when she hit them with a ball of lightning lol. HC of course good times.
