PoE 2 - will it continue zoom zoom trend?

game is now Diablo 3 but in somthing else genre
no challange " game to ez one shot screen even boss "
no blood no gore
no good loots
no diversity on uniques
no balance out on every spells " they nerfing meta and buffing new meta "
game depends on crafting and cards
quantity and rarity not worth bcoz 95% loots garbage

if they wanna change game make crafting second place craft items must be less powerfull than drop items
DONT million billion dmg like diablo 3
make very small numbers like between 1 to 10k
make game dark gore n bloodly

I fear yes.

Normaly I play Duelist Cycloner (real cyclone, no CoC) with high defens. Means I'm slow. Slow movement, low DPS=slow killing. And I love looting.

This league I play a Winterbrand Witch. Much higher DPS and melts Bosses. But I still love looting. So faster over all movement but looting still slows me down.

And I even have a bad feeling when remaining monsters are more then 15 (around 1 pack).

But all this prevents me from playing even with friends :(.
When they enter a map they press boosted quicksilver + Tailwind + Elusive + 35% boots + + + + any other posible speed boost. And then they zoom around the map doing the missions, doing garden, kill boss and want to open the next map.

No single item looted (super strict item filter), maybe 25% cleared.

For me ... SUPER boring! But I'm pritty alone as it seams as most players play like my frinds :(.

If the current trend isn't going to get fixed, soon, there is only one build, speed build and there is only one way to play the game, speedrun. In a game that praise itself on diversity, we sure tunnel ourselves fast into a singular playstyle.

That's the problem.
The game is more diverse nowadats than at any point in the past, it's the people who tend to lean towards whatever is meta.

You will always have someone coming up with the best ''overall'' builds, it's up to you to decide if you want to follow the trend or not.

There is no way for GGG to influence that other than to homogenize the game to a point of single attack dealing predetermined damage at specific speed.

I personally hope they keep the speed, and if anything, ramp it up.
Screw D3, GD and the rest of them, slow is boring. You want a slow gameplay with character progression? You have MMOs for that.
One of the key reasons why Torchlight series took off like a space ship on crack was because from lvl 1 your character was actually fast, the game was built from ground up with the idea of smashing through the different levels of dungeons with tools given to you that would allow you to keep the pace for as long as possible (you had a pet that could carry your inventory trash and be sent to the town so you could keep smashing on)

No rest for the wicked.

I personally think the timers should not exists, if your build is weak, you are already spending more time on an encounter and getting less XP/currency per time unit.

Fully agreed :)

Yup completly agree, failed a upgraded breechstone oncw cuz character was too slow. Hardly a fun experiance.

I dont really see the need for rewarding fast characters anymore then it already is. And just imagine if they removed exp penalty. Atm thats the only thing that can atleast to some extent encourage speccing into some defensive stuff.
If that would be removed the zoom-zoom would get even more crazy.
Yet people scream for a change like that. Doesn't matter to them if it breakes the game.

I just wanna ask why people who want things as fast as possible with as little challange as possible. Just to get loot fast like hell. At a certain point doesn't it feel pointless? I mean is it really fun? Could you not just get a bot to do that part for ya?

Well, "fun" for a lot of these players, is making currency. Their main measurement of a "good" or "fun" league, is how much currency they've been able to accumulate. So for them, it's not pointless. Whatever it takes to see that number in the currency tab grow.
Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.
As long as XP and currency are tied to monster kills, there will be inescapable pressure to move and kill as fast as possible.

As mentioned previously, speed is power, and power creeps.

This is the way.
