PoE 2 - will it continue zoom zoom trend?

Timer based encounters are not always fun, I do agree.
Delirium partially fixes that through existence of Delirium orbs.

I personally think the timers should not exists, if your build is weak, you are already spending more time on an encounter and getting less XP/currency per time unit.

Agreed!

Delirium orbed maps are good content. The speed isn't the culprit there, the overall quality of your build is. (Clear) speed is an overall advantage in every aspect of the game, and they do not have to excel that by adding timers and 'piñatas based on how fast you kill'-mechanics.

If a player wants to go slow(er), he should not be punished by less rewarding encounters.
Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.
The problem is the word ACTION.
I wish we could remove it and get back to good old RPG.
I will wear your ghost and you will die twice, against me and for me.
That is some cold blooded shit to say...

Op, better ask if there be any kinds of obtainable and useful defences available.

Not for .01% of players, so ultra expensive. So we can have a luxury to actually live in the fight. Today we avoid fights by instadestroying stuff, cuz defences are absent and usually not working anyway, too much damage sources players gets incoming.

Esp. evasion is one of the most busted defensive layers. If you don't have anything else, that one hit that will hit you (even once every 1000 hits) will kill you. Evasion should have some sort of stagger effect or partial damage reduction build in its core.

isn't because evasion using a system that's always guarantee one hit going through that's why it's kinda shit compare to others? That and with how low hp nodes in right side of the tree. That's why people pick aerobatic 95% of the time?
Need more frontal assets and backal assets armor!

PoE has morphed into this hideous twitch shooter of a mess that has lost it's way over the past few years. Gone are any strategy elements and it's all this smashing of mob packs, grab the crumbs (loot) and dash off (race) to the next mob pack to rinse and repeat. It's all about building an exile to do this a million times and PoE 2 won't be changing this as far as I can tell (not enough info on PoE 2). Given the current high ranking of PoE 1 (in the top 20 according to Steam Charts) GGG can't change the endgame speed or risk a player base collapse. There are too many PoE speed junkies that are willing to pay (buy mtx) for their next ladder reset and racing fix every 3 months so why would GGG slow the endgame pace of play and risk losing a lot of players. The simple answer is GGG won't be. Same for any hope of a better (functional) trade system. It sort of works (barely) but is just enough to minimally get by so PoE.trade operators are not worried about becoming obsolete.

This right here in a nutshell.

100% agree.
I had a taste of the zoom and frankly it wasn't that bad, just don't push me with delirium or synth type mechanics and we're good.

Breach, abyss and incursions are fine really.

I really don't mind that there are zoomers that run a map 3x faster than me, it's fine, just as long as they don't push us ALL via the league mechanic.
Second-class poe gamer
Of course.

As long as there is motivation to perform more tasks (like clearing map) per unit of time it will remain.

Its just part of IRL too. Accept and embrace it.
Yes.

Because it is still the same base game, where the new campaigns leads to the same map/atlas system.
Masterpiece of 3.16 lore
"A mysterious figure appears out of nowhere, trying to escape from something you can't see. She hands you a rusty-looking device called the Blood Crucible and urges you to implant it into your body."

Only usable with Ethanol Flasks
The boss gameplay seems to be a bit different, with actual shapeshifting and phase mechanics different enough to warrant significant changes in behaviour between phases, e.g. gem swaps, trolling tactics, etc.

The rest of the game seems to be clearspeed oriented though, rewatching the videos of the forest seems like nothing new.

People will always try to perform tasks faster, it's just nature. So PoE 2 will probably be no different in this regard. It's possible though that movement and travel skills will be adjusted. If there was a time to change this it would be in PoE 2.
