Don't try to hold it, flow with it.

Hopefully.
I tried playing Grim Dawn, what a snooze-fest - white mobs take forever to kill, I don't what any of that in my PoE :/ |

People that advocate for this direction forfeit any rights to complain about one shots. Its the only way left you could ever die, so there is that.

Insta clear helped to hide desync, when you had to actually think and position yourself you noticed desync. Insta clear speed builds got attention because of what they look like on streams and vods, everyone likes the idea of being over powered and seeing lots of loot explosions, the earliest example of all of this was probably Discharge which people like Kripp popularized and the way you experience that is to follow the same cookie cutter builds everyone else uses, because of course you do otherwise you get left behind or have less 'fun'. The game is balanced on this clear speed
GGG sees this and so designs the updates around it aka ascendancies, more movement based skills and items with more AOE primary skills and a passive tree and league gameplays to reward it. POE2 will be exactly the same unless end game is separate in both games, which it isn't, so it won't be any different other than it'll look slightly better as you run as fast as possible through all the content. Any new dynamic monster mechanics will only be a thing during act based gameplay. They call it POE2 but technically its POE3, POE stopped being POE long before 3.0. Theres not really any challenge other than the discovery of loot which is probably why I'm always bored by lvl90 as the loot sucks Last edited by eversorgod#5722 on Aug 2, 2020, 6:06:17 AM

" People get comfortable with things if they are being provided with it. Then its gonna be hard to change. Look at Word of Warcraft as an example. No doubt dungeon finder and crossrealms are a way more efficiant way. Yet the game lost something in the process. Eventually many people wanted the more old school features of Classic WoW. More speed doesn't = better gameplay. Infact the high speed causes many other issues aswell, besides just making the endgame a zoom-zoom cakewalk. |

Since this is an RNG based game... Speed is everything...
The faster the more chances of getting what you want. If GGG is successful to have a deterministic crafting approach rather than buying item from the "Whale Lords" using currency, probably this game will balance out. |

I would love a slower speed too. It's no fun watching ppl clear things so fast when I barely get to see my skeletal mages spawn and do any clearing. Plus I only do 200k per mage dmg whereas some people have 30 mill shaper dps.
I loved the d2 summoner necromancer playstyle. Slow but can clear everything. |
