Can we get a summary of Chris's commentary from 7/18/2020?

i hope to see way WAY more QOL thing in poe2 and change lot of mechanic from poe1 to slow down speed and speedrunners acts as they must be important but not 2-3 hours and instantly endgame as now

That's really not their plan. They're not lumping a bunch of random stuff into PoE2. If they come up with your QoL adds, they add them when they do. The transition to PoE2 wont come with a lot of unrelated baggage.

Like having a conversation on removal or at least limiting older content and having beyond come up. I think personally that Delerium was built as a replacement for Beyond. They both function as basically a multiplier for other content (like old school "multiball" in pinball). However Delerium is more fleshed out and brings more interesting mechanics to the game with it with clusters and an endgame style showdown map. I felt this was pretty confirmed by the aside that Delerium mobs were originally slated to possibly update the generic "red" mobs of Beyond, but just speculation on my end.

Of course, folks are still going to WANT both versions of multiball going at once, and it is also likely that "Beyond going away" just means it will be limited to say, specific maps (akin to Sunthesis), not completely removed.
Delirium has a timer, Beyond does not. This has a huge impact on how the content is played and what builds are suited for it, as well as making picking up loot and doing other mechanics much harder to do.

Basically what this means is that Beyond is getting replaced by a strictly inferior version of itself.

The meat of Delerium content does not have a timer but instead has a currency cost. It is in my opinion, entirely superior to Beyond in both implementation and reward, feel free to disagree with my opinion though, can't please everyone.

Delirium also doesn't have to have a timer. They can remove that aspect at any point. They just stubbornly refuse to do so...
Couple other things I took away from the video. Chris is really hyping the next league. He all but said it is the best league ever.

Also Tarke asked him if PoE2 could possibly live up to the hype that people have for it. And Chris doubled down saying it is going to solve most of the issues people have with PoE and it is going to be the best ArPG on the market.
Chris is always hyping the next league. That's his job.

As for solving all the problems... I doubt that's possible. People have contradictory "problems". Some say there's too much RNG, others say not enough. Some say there's too much division between the haves and the have nots, others think that's what makes the game great. You can't solve one person's problems without creating problems for someone else.

X doubt.

poe0.2/10. Nuff said.

You can't please everybody, so you must try to please the maximum people possible. What is wrong is assume we know who are those "silent majority" based on some vocal forum posters. Only GGG has the data so all we can do is presume.

By the leagues I played since I started PoE I can see by the "vocal minority" that leagues with loot explosions were more appreciated: Delve, Metamorph, Delirium. Craft leagues were hated: Bestiary, Shitesys (yeah I really hate that one) and now Harvest. The minigame leagues were so so: Blight, Betrayal.

Yet all (aside Shitesys) in the end made it to core game. Much to my personal distaste even Delirium went core. Based on this we can see that GGG sees public for every kind of content.

There's only one thing that seens to be hated across all these content: RNG. That's a separate matter I will not discuss now.

Harvest MUST go core, the deterministic craft system is a very good idea and need further improvements not a complete scrap from the game. The garden could be simplified like an immutable pre-made garden for every type/tier of seeds, including upgradable storages (like sulphite tank), really working dispersers, upgradable horticraft stations, etc. The most op crafts like criticals could have a rarer chance, and the chance of T1 affixes via craft made rarer, a lot of stuff, but the game need Harvest. Hope the "silent majority", GGG and Chris saw this.

the only way i can see harvest going core would be in a beastiary way were its gutted "beyond recognition"

I love the idea of do this-> get this, deterministically crafting or doing things at all should outweight RNG by farrrrrrrrrrrrr
90 to 10, I dont know who could ever ask seriously for more RNG and is not hired by blizzard to support the downfall of this game

I myself DO HATE RNG. AS a casual for PoE standards (3h of gameplay a day, more on weekends) farming all that currency, and the worst part, TRADING TO GET MY GEAR, it's all painfull and tedious for me. Specially the currency trading: you either use trade bots or you don't trade at all. All because RNG sucks and I won't ever drop a mirror tier item, and maybe in the next 10 lifes I can get one good with 2 t2 using chaos spam.

Harvest craft brought a new joy for me. I can work on my gear on my own. Play, get the bases, and custom my gear to my needs. It's way far from easy like streamers and "vocal minority" make it seen, because again: you either need to TRADE CRAFTS or, hello RNG!!! What takes 8h for a streamer is taking me like since the begining of the league. And wanna know? I'm enjoying every bit of it.

Wish I could have more money to support more. They have a gold mine in their hands and they wish to throw it away because it's too easy to harvest the gold (pun intended :D)
