Thoughts on GGG's dishonesty, false advertising, and new stash tabs.

Agreed. Certainly not in this thread. If they address this issue, it will be in an outside context, in order to save face. This is consistent behavior by GGG, and I personally don't blame them for doing it that way.

is really the only portion that isn't restrained, and I assume you are at least partly alluding to that, but here context is important:

1. Last spring, GGG put up globally broadcast hourly advertising saying all types of stash tabs were on sale, even though the new ones they had just added to the game were not.

2. Players informed GGG on their forums that the advertising was misleading, and asked them to change it to a message which actually reflects the fact that only some of the stash tab types were on sale.

3. GGG did not, and instead continued running the broadcasts falsely advertising that all stash tabs were on sale.

4. Bex made it clear when announcing these new tabs that they would not be put on sale for the upcoming tab sale.

5. I decided to preempt their doing the exact same false advertising again by reminding them that they did it before, and it was rude, so please do NOT do it again.

6. They ignored the request, and did it again.

That, my friend, is GGG being cheeky to the extreme. I'd say it definitely warranted the response I edited in being more strongly worded than the rest of the post.

As is, it looks like they attempted to use decent monetization methods, but ended up seeing that it wasn't sufficient to sustain the game so they had to switch to less honest practices.

i am also worried about this... i even started a thread some time ago mentioning pay to play vs being pushed twards pay to win or quality of life but no one could think of anything that would not hurt the game.
i said in that thread that i'm worried of actual game content being corrupted so that it promotes mtx sales... if it is all just my bad interpretation of things than no problem but i hope the core game is not based on selling you a stash tab or making you want to look like the end game bosses,core supporter packs being the end game bosses...
i wish for pay to play but many old players/supporters convinced me that will not be possible and it would actually hurt the buisness more than help it.
i hope they always create content for fun and that they find a better way to monetise if it's not enough...
regarding the tabs i have questions:will delirium,blight and metamorph never be removed from the game? is it permanent core content forever?
i mean will those roots with mobs clipping over eachother be in poe 2?
either way the tabs just show that this is permanent content and that's a big decision.

you guys know what blizzard does best to get player numbers up and sell theyr games? Trailers... advertisement,publicity,letting the people know the game exists through every possible way same as selling any product it needs some billboards :),comercials whatever,league of legends is doing good with that crap caus of the huge trailers,hell i watch them and i don't even play league of legends.

yeah sure it will look good for the company making all of those videos public (they are currently unlisted so only people with the link can actually see them)

they know their own business is starting to get really old to some old players.

i dont mind the stashes at all and as i said above,maybe i'm interpreting everything bad here,maybe we all are... but making those 3 leagues permanent content makes me worried they already have a death date decided for the game and this horse(monetization scheme) will be left to run till it dies.
blizzard does not rely on people's likes to advertise games,they invest so much in advertisement that it get's pushed in your eyes.
even your grandma wants to play that game she saw on the tele :)

now i am happy i found poe and would be sad to lose it,ofc i understand ggg needs to make money and now it needs even more because of tencent expectations,if tencent thinks the game will die,they will not lose money...

If your wondering why it gone way it gone it is the influence of Tencent. Tencent are not good company and are involved in some dodgy things, they are focused on money only and care nothing about the players, it a massive organisation owning hundreds of companies.
