Furthermore, if you have to force an option on because you are concerned everyone will turn it off, is that really an option that should be considered? And if ~half of people actually like the feature (hard to believe, but whatever), that still seems like more than enough data points.

This logic is flawed. They don't have to be afraid that everyone will turn it off, but rather only that those for whom it doesn't work (either technically or aesthetically) will turn it off. And those are the very people from whom they want data. It doesn't help them to know how it is working for some people without knowing how it isn't for others - and those are the same people who'll turn it off if they're given that option.

Ah, ok. I thought everyone meant "everyone", when you meant "everyone for whom it is an issue".

Even still, seems like a terrible way to go about things, if that's the case, for the other points outlined in my post.
IGN Weebletz, Mirana_Callidus
I don't know what's happening on the screen, all i know is things are dying,.

Lightning attack with 15 +minions buffed from holy relic.

Now you have my feedback can i turn it off?

Bloom Improvements
- Reduced the intensity of Bloom effects for the following assets: The Eradicator skills, Stygian Desecrate Effect, Tornado Shot, Flame Golem skills, Tectonic Slam, Automaton Divine Ire Effect, Phasing effect and Pandemonium Wings.
- Fixed a bug where using Divine Ire while wearing the Angelic Helmet microtransaction caused bright visual flashes.

So this is what we've got from the latest patch notes.
Guess it's time to ditch PoE.

Sadly, I already have since this Bloom problem started.

Unsurprisingly, my migraines have stopped...
I loved Path of Exile.
I do not love Path of RNG.
Bloom gives me migraines, the over usage of darkness strains my eyes.
Save our game, remove all of the constant RNG and allow us to turn off Bloom or give us an in game brightness control!
try production_Config.ini

"

bloom_intensity=0
bloom_sampler=false
bloom_strength=0
Does that actually work? Could at least get me to reconsider reinstalling...
Ninja.
Unfortunately, that config thing above does not work.

BTW bloom_strength=0 equals to the "less Bloom" in-game setting.

Well, hope's fading.

Please allow us to turn off bloom

Actually, many companies have lost it once the creators became rich. It´s main reason is, that they stop playing their own game.

Blizzard did an amazing D1, D2 was already weaker and D3 for many the worst Diablo game. Since WOTLK also WOW has been affected by this and Blizz can´t do right anymore, even their "Classic rework" has failed.

Steam is another example. When it was created, players could share their mods and maps, skin packs for free with others, today you must pay money for everything that is supposed to be free and games are sold under Alpha status that never see a release, either.

Money changes people, it´s just what it does.

I wish the GGG creators all the best, game was amazing back in the days, but the performance issues have taken over by now and Blight was the last good league too.
