Bloom always on?

It's not a "significant amount". It's a few hundred whiners, most of whom are leeches who haven't supported the game with a single cent. They should be ignored.

Any discussion about numbers is pointless because there's no way to know how the vocal group represents the overall population. Literally every issue that’s ever appeared on reddit can be marginalized by saying “it’s a few hundred whiners” because that’s the most you’ll ever get on a public forum like reddit, except that one of the bloom threads had over 3000 upvotes which is an astronomical amount, relatively speaking.

Most of them don’t donate? How exactly did you obtain that information? Oh right, you’re full of shit.

If something has 3 reddit threads in the top 10, it is clearly an issue for a significant amount of people.

But sure, you can come in here spouting nonsense and insults with no factual basis whatsoever for your statements.

Is this bloom, and is this what everyone is talking about? Because I posted a bug at https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2886475 because the game is almost unplayable for me.

3000 votes on a platform which is notorious for hive mind behaviour and where everyone can have as many accounts as they please tell us exactly nothing about anything.

Why exactly are you throwing this tantrum? All you do is screaming weird insults into the internet. Why do you have to do this?

Implying anyone would go out of their way to use multiple reddit accounts just to upvote a single post of feedback...

Ignoring your backpedaling, the reason people are "throwing a tantrum" is because this bloom thing is fucking awful, and to some people the worst thing they've implemented so far. I cannot currently play the game due to bloom as it causes my left eye to spasm and hurt (on top of looking terrible in my opinion and making the preexisting issue of lack of clarity more prevalent.) All GGG has to do is allow us to disable bloom, and before you go and quote Bex's explanation of why it could be difficult for them to do and could break textures, you should know that there is already a third party (sadly in violation of TOS) tool that does it in less than 5 minutes with no adverse missing textures (you can find proof and examples with 30 seconds of googling). Sadly, I have no desire to jeopardize my account, (not a "leech account" as you put it, I've supported them plenty) so I can't safely play till they give us this option. There is literally no valid reason why they cannot just let players disable bloom, so of course people are fucking pissed they are making terrible decisions.
There's no powercreep here. Creep implies it's slow and could be overlooked, this is a full out sprint.

Well, they're not going to reverse their decision to take away our option to turn it off so sadly, after 3 years and every single league, I am reluctantly done with the game completely.

I don't buy the official announcement at all, it's not logical in the slightest, it's political. However, that in itself, tells me all I need to know about how this issue is being treated and the overall development direction that has become more prevalent now.

I have loved this game since the day I installed it. I have countless thousands of hours into it, and many experiments of builds. My character list shows some of the toons I made, but there were quite a few more that I had to delete to make space for every league I played in.

To answer the one idiot, yes I have contributed to purchasing quite a few things in the past, so did indeed support the game financially back when it was a great indie company and a great game. Quite why we have to justify this to trolls, I do not know.

Bloom is a health hazard to me in this game. Since 3.11 every single play session I have done in Standard (I did not want to play this league) has resulted in severe eye strain, or either headaches or migraines. I did NOT have either of those in 3.10 or below. I was playing on characters that were not new to me, I had hundreds of hours on those toons, so nothing changed there. I had tried having Bloom on its minimal settings and also other tweaks within our permitted menus.

I will not use 3rd party software to edit game files just to play.
I will not jeopardise my health just to appease a political decision to enforce an ancient system (how many "new" games use bloom?)

So, with great reluctance, my involvement now is merely lurking once in a while here and in reddit in the vain hope that one day GGG come to their senses and re install the option to disable this nonsense.

In the meantime, I sincerely hope that all those who are not affected health-wise by Bloom continue to enjoy this wonderful game that has given me so much joy over the last 3 years.
I loved Path of Exile.
I do not love Path of RNG.
Bloom gives me migraines, the over usage of darkness strains my eyes.
Save our game, remove all of the constant RNG and allow us to turn off Bloom or give us an in game brightness control!

I agree with all your points, but just curious what do you mean by political?

To generalise, Political speeches are more about "smoke & mirrors" than actual facts.
Politicians tend to say more what they think people want to hear and will swallow than actually explaining things in their true form.

A bit of research on gaming Tech and analysing a statement that is allegedly "political" in nature will fill in the blanks for you.

That's as far as I would care to elaborate. The censorship hammer is already active enough. Plus, there's really no point in debating it any more, they've made up their minds, and obviously refuse to consider any other viewpoint.
