For attack builds, weapons are major source of damage unlike minions and spells. There is very little room for "creative" unique weapons that just lack the damage to handle tough content. For an attack build, it's have a strong weapon that can do damage, or gtfo. And besides, bow builds usually struggle with single target, this certainly does not help.


Yeah, single targets now have dozens of millions hp and buffed defences, with plenty of immunity and invulnerability phases on top of that.

In delirium league for me, where 2 mil dps only felt "sufficient" I can't remember the last time I made a 2mil bow build that was HC viable, I did a bleed bow in blight or legion but does that even count?

The bows fruit and i'll definitely test it out but its not a usable unique really, just doesn't have the power and in the niche it fits in death's opus is going to outperform it most of the time and that in itself is a little sad.
Yeey, another useless rework. Whats the point of such reworks ? This uniques wont be used anyway, this items are total crap lol
i wish i could read the design documents to understand how this came to be. someone must have had some kind of build in mind for that. i have no nostalgia for this unique so i don't share the disappointment expressed here and on reddit, but it does look crappy.
I don't know why this item deserved to be "nerf" and "reworked" so many times and constantly in the limelight.... Just create a new bow already and saves the unwanted trouble.

If you were to compare to other unique items, this unique definitely has the most "nerf" and "reworked"..

i like that uniques are starting to have interesting interactions instead of just always having comparable stats with rares in order to be used.

not all uniques need to be used in end game situations. the assumption or implication that this needs to be is why everyone is claiming every unique is shit.
they're not shit, they're different. uniques should be different. im not sure if this bow in the way its different would be used much, but im sure it could be used and work

Bows have always had the problem of being too good at single target but worthless for clear. This weapon solves that problem.

But really I think you're supposed to have this as your clear weapon and then weapon swap to your real weapon for bosses.

At least you don't need to socket fork/chain/pierce in it. That's like 50%+ more dps for skill used for clear (penalty from fork/chain + one additional support gem). I think it's good for torando shot builds that don't use barrage.
