The returned of the "Reach of the Council Bow" most confuse reworked

I have couple versions of this bow already. Hopefully divine orb will work but I doubt it.

divine orbs cannot add mods. luckily for you it's still bad, you can buy as many as you want for 1c ea.
If you want straight up damage, then its clearly not the bow for you. If you want something that alters how you play the game, and is "unique", then this is for you. Simple?

If you look at all the council drop items, they are mostly not about raw numbers, they all do something that you can't really do with any other item in that slot. Other than breath I guess, but even then, 40% chaos skill duration (or equivalent) cant be found on a weapon slot otherwise right?

Which is kind of the point of a unique isnt it??

Yes and no. There's no point using a unique if it's only interesting but does not let you kill stuff.
I guess the new RotC is OK for clearing and you might switch to a different bow for bosses. But then, there are bows that also allow for good clearing AND killing bosses.
I hope I'm wrong and the bow is actually not only a gimmick. It needn't be BiS, but it should at least usable.

I have 4 arrow version, 2 arrow version and the current greater volley version

Unless they change the existing mod to add a new line on it, divine it will not change the item

even with 28% its only around ~330 pdps - the 21% less modifier = 260dps


yeah its provide a small different playstyle, but you can get quite easy a 450pdps bow with gmp+chain you still end up with 300pdps + better crit or more attack speed or with a bit of investment 500-600 pdps

and that bow has a better clear speed+single target and a better interaction between player and monsters IMO

Guys this bow is obviously trash, because you can get a 500-600pdps for a "bit of investment', you know like 45 + exalts. /s

A bow with a unique interaction, and a 7th link you can go full single target support gems and not have to swap for clear / ST. Cool enough in my book.

there are several in delerium with 500+ pdps for less then 10 ex and same for standard

unique interaction =
main arrow = does nothing
1. arrow = returns does nothing on the way back in 99.99% the cases
the other 3 arrow have atleast some use but still i rather have 5-7 arrows with 2-3 chains compared to that bow lol

For attack builds, weapons are major source of damage unlike minions and spells. There is very little room for "creative" unique weapons that just lack the damage to handle tough content. For an attack build, it's have a strong weapon that can do damage, or gtfo. And besides, bow builds usually struggle with single target, this certainly does not help.

It's why most unique weapons especially for attack builds sucked, even more so for two-handers. There's time for gimmicky uniques but weapons especially for attack builds are too important to be used for gimmicks. Leave gimmicks to like glove or boots or something, not for the damn weapons, at least not to such a strong degree.

Why do you think Starforge is such a popularly used weapon among uniques? Is it because it can do so much damage or because it has "fun interactions"?
