Has game died down significantly over past few days?
The game is very far from dying. There's still tons of activity everywhere I look.
Now, I do expect the game to lose players and gain them very irregularly due to it being an ARPG. ARPGs are not the kind of game you play for really long periods of time, in my opinion. You play them for a couple months at best, then come back to them a year or two later. That's what I've done with D2 and every time I go back the game is as fun as it first was. Now granted, since PoE updates frequently, the length of time away will probably be a lot less but still, I'm already taking occasional breaks from this game. Though the above is how I handle ARPGs, pretty much everyone I've ever met plays them more or less about the same. You make a character you had in mind, you pimp him out and once you've accomplished that, you leave the game for awhile -- rinse, repeat. All the whacky build ideas you can make in PoE does open the doors to it's longevity though. So yeah, don't worry if you see a lack of players one day because a whole set of new ones or new ones of old will be right on their way another day. |

You also have to take into effect that many very anticipated games are out or are going to be released at which point population dips should be expected. Heck, I am stoked for Bioshock Infinite and I only have a certain amount of time in the day to play games, so something is going to have to take a backseat.

It's a free to play game. People come and go. A lot of people just try it and leave after not liking it or the genre. The game itself has insane amount of content to do compared to most of mmo's (except mobas of course), especially if you play it in hardcore, which adds lengts from deaths and different learning curve. Some people have just already burned out from playing too much, but will still be playing. Stop being so naive. Your friends list and global chat isn't the entire community.
New gaming generation reminds me of the 5 year olds crying and yelling at their parents in public stores when they don't get something they wanted.

I'm just curious. I'm not sure if the OP's post is a question of genuine concern or just passing curiosity.
Either way, when threads like this come up, what is the point? Are people really rooting for the game to die? It's certainly not like any players can give an answer FOR SURE about how many players are still playing. It's always gross speculation, and I never EVER see threads starting with "OMG- So many people have been playing this game lately!" It's always gloom and doom. All the things I want to remember are in the places I'd like to forget.

I am playing less and less, no point in playing a game where you can't farm properly.
It seems like you have only 2 options: 1- gain orbs by scamming people 2- farm with multiboxing as i don't like them both i am left with only 1 option: farm in single player till i get so bored i will quit for good. |

Went back to TL2 and realized I like their map system much better. If you're going to copy shit, at least improve it. I just check the forums every so often to see if anything is changing.
