Alternatively I could just swap my chest piece out for a 100% reflect reduction piece, but wheres the fun in that!

Or you could just swap a ring (55%), you barely give up anything for that just an affix. Stack that with Pantheon (25%) for 80% reduction and maybe some other mitigation and your set.

Personally I think yes, infact I think far too many have been removed over time. It used to be that making a character that could run any map mod was a major perk, now there are so few it really doesn't matter.

Its a pretty small inconvenience, like when you corrupt a T15 and get a Vaal temple with impossible mods lol

I agree. But then it's kinda unfair some are left in that only screw some builds.

GGG has removed Blood Magic or if it has not been removed it is now very rare, so possibly they will remove some other mods in the future, but knowing GGG they will probably replace the more annoying mods with even more annoying mods.

I've played my share of RF builds and came to hate the no regen/reduced recovery mods. With awakening levels, reduced recovery practically becomes no regen in red tier maps. But I did appreciate what they added to the game. Without them, my RF builds would have just plowed the whole game without a 2nd thought.

They made me have to think about how to handle them. I turned off my RF for maps I didn't want to junk and Scorching Ray'd the whole map.

For every build, there should be a counter mod. No regen hits a subset of builds. Something like "Spells are disabled" would hit a huge amount of builds. It would be just as damning as "Attacks are disabled" -- probably more so. I would need to check poe.ninja but I suspect spells are more commonly used than attacks.

I do think there should be some sort of indicator in an unidentified map for the most damning mods like reflect maps. Testing the water tends to equal death for any real build. I would venture a guess that reflect is one of the highest causes of deaths in unidentified maps.

Thanks for all the fish!

I see it like this, there are 3 map mods that disable some builds, and I have multiple character slots. Typically I build 2 characters, together they can run all map mods. This way none of them are impossible for me. ++++Currency, no losses.
Yeah, this is a good way to look at it. If you don't want to reroll it, then just treat it like any other item drop that's "not for this character". That's a normal occurrence.

Thats a solid work around to a problem guys.

Do you think it adds to the game that the problem exists. So, is PoE better for you because its something you occassionally have to think about and deal with?

Not trying to lead your answer, just curious.

A game is all about solving problems that it throws in your path.

So is PoE a better game for throwing problems in your direction that require creativity to work around?
Yes, it does make it a better game, because in the absence of those things we wouldn't call it a game but work.

Also, lets not mention Minotaur with double or triple damage mods and increased aoe.... Summoners bane right there... A8 Sirus is easier than this fight with my build :X

I played several builds which handled those mods just fine. Also played builds that could handle both reflect melee + reflect spells. It can save you some chaos orbs buying maps with those specific mods.

So personally i'm fine having it. But i can understand it's not fun receiving them.
Reroll the map mods or sell it, no big deal. There are plenty of builds who can run mods your build may not be able to.
transmutes/alts solve this problem
