Players cannot regenerate life, mana

GGG really needs to listen to you and make maps with 100%+ Quantity and no mods, or for some T16 white maps add Warcraft's Who's your daddy mod.

Cz it's so fkin hard to reroll or roll another map, especially with Alch orbs beeing so hard to obtain!

Thats a solid work around to a problem guys.

Do you think it adds to the game that the problem exists. So, is PoE better for you because its something you occassionally have to think about and deal with?

Not trying to lead your answer, just curious.
I wouldn't say it makes it better, but I don't know that it makes it worse either. If the idea of map mods is that they trade off danger for item quantity/rarity, then I'm not fundamentally against mods that push toward the extremes of that exchange.

I mean personally I never run maps with this mod, so from one perspective it adds nothing for me but busywork. But as I said, there's always going to be items that drop that aren't what I need, and at least in this case I'm guaranteed to be able to be able to turn it into something more useful with a little bit of currency. Maybe that itself is a good thing - helping to ensure that the map mod system is actually engaged with rather than people just being able to comfortably run anything that drops? I dunno. Hard to say. Valid designs on both sides of the spectrum there, I suppose.

Because really, yeah, you could probably remove this one mod and it would hardly change the game - that'd be true of lots of individual aspects of the game. But if I thought everything that dropped should be guaranteed to be usable by my build, I expect I'd have run into conflict with this aspect of POE's design back in the Mud Flats, not just once I hit maps.

Similar to the other guy who ran off, you argument doesnt make sense. If we had to transmute all maps before running them, would it be a problem... not really, transmute exist in droves.

What if you had to transmute all the maps, then type F 10 types in a row in local chat in your hideout. Its no problem right?

Transmute one of yoru 5427 transmute orbs.

Was that hard? Not really.

But there is is no reason for to exist either. The existence of a workaround does not make for good game design.

I would say that these mods do in fact add value to the game, in that they do force the player to think and act accordingly. Deliberate action is a good thing in games and that is what these things force. In my case I have alternative characters and items that allow me to maximize them, maybe its just something I brought with me from hardcore into softcore when I left that scene, but it works for me. The other side of the coin is kind of boring in my mind, every piece of gear looks exactly the same and has the same stats... (Diablo 3 and general Blizzard set items) Sure there are games that make that item design work, but that doesn't appeal to me.

Just responded with an argument that is close to your mindset... but you still didn't understand it... damn

But still i might be mistaken, what was the last game u created?

Ah, the old argument - no one who does not publish games can have any relevant feedback or comments.

Very clever, very relevant and useful commentary.

Thank you for your intelligent, not-at-all nonsensical and meaningless contribution.

That is a (no sarcasm) interesting and thoughtful reply and I appreciate it.

I think the counter would be that adding non-identified / corrupted maps that also have these mods does not mean you can effectively counter them, particularly as zana missions sometimes have one portal.

But, now we are getting down even further into the smaller probabilities, so its fair to say some parts of any game will simply unplayable which your reach a certain size and complexity.

There is some truth to the unidentified for sure, I've died several time this league to ele reflect from it. I really love how the Vaal unidentified effect works, how it keeps the same mods as before you vaal it.
Well, maps ARE supposed to be a currency sink. I don't really see the big problem when they force you to actually sink currency.

With that in mind, why do they NOT add a mod "Spells are disabled" (it even exists on that Gruthkul unique).
There's an easy workaround: Party with someone who does not use spells or reroll.
In fact, this is totally up GGG's alley. They like player interaction, this way players will be forced not only to interact briefly in trades, but also in the game itself. Win!
