About talismans. A content way long forgotten and useless. Make'em great again.

Here's a thought: Add a new beastcrafting recipe to purify talismans by removing their corruption.

Or, at the very least, allow putting anoints on them even while corrupted.
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build!

And the winds will cry / and many men will die / and all the waves will bow down / to the Loreley
Insane: talismans now can get up to 8 modifiers...
Much love for the business model.
They simply shouldn’t be corrupt. No reason for it. There are plenty of uncommon item bases with good implicits.
We're all in this leaky boat together, people.

They probably made them corrupt so that you couldn't just craft a good implicit base and ignore the league mechanic altogether. That and there would be no point in crafting anything that isn't a Talisman base if they didn't come corrupted.

Nowadays is a rare sight to craft something that's not influenced.

Imo, removing the corrption from a talisman is not a smart move, but if it goes like that they can restrict the ability to add any influence on talismans.

Same idea when annoiting it, if the base isn't good turning an amulet into a talisman is also a nono. Sometimes you can get something useless and the investment is way too much.

All those aforementioned points is what turns talismans completely useless. That's why they need to be reworked or at least usable.-

Don't abandon us. don't turn your backs on the ones loving poe.
This is a sad case of the developers basically forgetting and entirely eclipsing old content.

Though, I will say that there could be some solid reasons to do Talismans again. (which TBH, was one of my favorite leagues, and the first I got all challenges for) It'd require some re-working to how their mods rolled, admittedly. Namely, at minimum, I'd call for all "possessed" talismans (those that drop off of mobs, rather than from a league gimmick chest/incubator) would always have 6 mods, and probably even have some "lucky" rolls, as well as frequently having exclusive (e.g, Incursion, Delve, or influence) mods. Quite possibly even going further, to weight them to have theme-fitting mods, too. (In the modern era of lots of crafting, it's VERY hard for any dropped rare to ever compete)

Even still, there's another incentive for the Talisman mechanic: unique items. This used to be the main incentive for leagues before post-3.0, when each new league had to introduce a whole new item type with associated power creep. (Abyssals, beastcrafting, fossils, scarabs, synthesized mods, incubators, oils, catalysts, and now cluster jewels)

Though "nerfed," Rigwald's Quills are still a valuable quiver, as are the unique talismans, so it might be nice to have a more specific means of acquisition.

If only that was true, but now they throw in these utterly useless things to water down the rewards from delirium.

Unique items is something that they can easily bring back. Rigwald quills is an item often used by a lot of players, isn't hard to get in normal ways so why keeping it limited in that way?

Also, the other items can be used in good ways too, they can even nerf'em if they consider it to be so game breaking.. but honstly nowaday there's items with higher game-breaking capabilities still available and from other leagues (cough cought headhunter)

So, why not making them useful again? It saddens me to see so many talismans drops ignored or sold to npcs for some juicy alterations shards
