Severe performance dip with new Delirium update
I haven't played since Blight league and even with all the screen clutter the game was running great. I'm now playing with a fresh install of PoE and even my login screen animation stutters. The game itself is uplayable with frames and latency all over the place. Right after a complete reinstall of everything the game ran ok for about a minute.
I've tried lots of possible fixes; lowering all my settings, adjusting individual settings, setting to run purely of gpu/auto select physx, setting pre rendered frames to 1, loading fresh drivers/rolling back drivers, fresh install, game file check, etc. I don't know if this is exclusive to delirium or this particular problem is exclusive to me. Either way, I can't play the game :( |

" They stated they know about performance issues and something broke they're working on it. |

I have been playing since 2013 and its so frustrating, that they don't respond to any of these threads. Are we not a valued part of the community, that you just ignore us?
We have systems well with the requirements and the game is unplayable, do you not care at all? Last edited by Omnibenevolent#2256 on Mar 18, 2020, 8:24:43 PM

I had 8 or more crashes in 30 minutes after this update. Seems like once memory usage goes to around 3.5gb the game decides to kill itself and killed my character in the process.
FIX YOUR MEMORY PROBLEM GGG! |

thanks to snooy
I had the same issues and everything is solved with his fix https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2792224 I had only used the steam client to play the game, but the performance issues seem to be linked with the steam version of the game (at least for me) if you log in on the website with your steam account (green button on the right at the log in screen), you need to link an email address to your account that is not linked with any other account, and then you need to download and install the standalone launcher. at launch input the newly linked email+passw and that's it it's a completely different game without the fram drops ^^ |

" +1 I think they can´t fix it .. that´s the reason why they are not respond. The Engine from the game can´t handle this. Maybe a PC from the NASA can run this game in 1440p with stable 60FPS Last edited by Kirby1978#6030 on Mar 19, 2020, 8:50:09 AM

" Confirmed this worked for me. The Steam PathOfExile.exe launcher caused the game to run like garbage. However, after downloading the client I still had to manually go into the game folder and open the game through PathOfExile_64.exe to get the game to run properly. It might be a pretty good idea for GGG to address this since lots of people use the Steam launcher exclusively to run the game. |

tried the standalone version, did nothing for me. Still getting drops down to 1 fps from 100. almost unplayable.

When the league started i feel some issues with FPS but after day it was fine and everything was fine until they released patch 3.10.0e there everything starts, game loading longer than before this patch, my fps are 2x lower than before patch, when i attack pack in/out of league mechanic my FPS go to like 5-15..
I'm pretty sad i can't play this league :) PC: 1070 Ti i7-7700k @5Ghz 32GB RAM DDR4 3000Mhz 1TB Nvme M.2 SDD (Have installed PoE on this disk) |

I just did some testing on my system:
CPU: i5-4460 Mainboard: Gigabyte H97-HD3 (Realtek onboard sound) RAM: 8GB DDR3 800MHz Graphics: Nvidia GTX 960 (Palit) Windows 10 x64 SSD Metamorph League worked fine, just some decent lag spikes, especially when fighting Sirus as Zombiemancer, but in the end it was doable. Before patch 3.10.0e I could not really play any Delirium Encounter at all. Freezing to death almost every time. I thought it was Audio, but as I changed Audio, they patched the game. So my "Audio-solution" was not really the clue. Now I am still struggling with FPS drops when engaging more complex packs/encounters like Legion one. Combined with delirium and/or conqueror I drop to 0-3 FPS and die/freeze/crash. I can map slowly and everything is almost fine, but to be honest, who wants to kill 1 minion after another... What I tried: (I was running only a few maps, 2-3 per change, for reasonable results more testing needs to be done. But I am not looking for exact percentage of improvement, rather playable/unplayable) - sound to lowest: does not change much, if any at all - sound to medium: does not change much, if any at all - "-ns": does not change much, if any at all - "PoE_x64": does not change much, if any at all - "PoE": does not change much, if any at all - "client.exe": does not change much, if any at all (Why are there even 3 different .exe? wtf?) - "--noasync --nologo --nodx9ex -gc 2": does not change much, if any at all (I get random crashes when changing zones, e.g. town -> hideout) - "waiting 10-15 seconds when joining new map zone": does not change much, if any at all - Fullscreen: does not change much, if any at all What I noticed: RAM: - solid at 5GB-6GB all the time GPU: - very rarely at maximum usage (100%) - in town idle 45%-49% (maybe little changes with different setting from above, but not really noticable, more testing needs to be done) - map average 85% - spikes 95% (really very rarely 100%) I capped FPS Foreground 60 and Background 30. I don't see any sense having more than 60 FPS. FPS are rarely stable at 60 when mapping. Even when there is not much going on. CPU: - town idle ~50% - almost always at maximum (100%) usage when trying to do fast mapping (does not change much using different setting from above) - always getting FPS drops when on 100% usage - temperature at beginning 30°C - temperature after doing some maps 55°C (since I have a great cooler and almost never get above 45°C this is really weird. Increased its RPM to having max 45°C --> Not changing anything at all, just my CPU does not crash because of this game) My conclusion: This game wants to eat my CPU. GPU seems fine even not being the best. CPU is old. But an i5 should do the job. I am not having issues with any other game at all. Seeing other people here having same problem with much better hardware just really seems to be some very wrong coding. --> Check your CPU temperature. This game wants to eat your CPU and make you buy new hardware having no changing effect at all. Everything I tried has no significant effect on my system. Corona still makes me playing this game and even made me do some testing instead of just going out and enjoying the sun. /sad Last edited by dushoci#7618 on Mar 22, 2020, 2:10:39 PM
