Same issue.

Tried running as Administrator. Nope.
Tried VPN. Nope.
Tried Restarting. Nope.

Working on a fresh install.

Location. California, U.S.

Game worked on launch but had too many disconnect issues. Took me 45 minutes to run through the longest Northern Forest of my life to get the Caverns Way Point. Disconnected, sometimes back in queue, seven times before finally making it. At 5.5 hours played time and just started Act 4 so I went to bed. Only experienced one rollback so the play time just kept piling up.

At least I never died to lag in SSFHC.

When I woke up the issue was present. Don't know what changed while I was sleeping.

Fresh install worked. Coincidentally doubled my frame rate from last league and dropped my latency from 35 to 15. Must have had other issues.
If anyone is still having this problem, please try running the client again now. It should be fixed, but let us know if it's still not working for you (including the error message).
Same issue, even If I try to reinstall game still shows the same message.

Hmm ok, you'll pretty much just need to try the things that have already been suggested by others.

Check if there is a PathOfExile.tmp file in the install dir and if there is delete it.

Try run the game as administrator (just to patch, should be fine to run as normal user again once patched) in case your install dir has weird permissions. Alternatively create a new dir (e.g. C:\PoE) and copy or move your PathOfExile.exe and Content.ggpk to it and try run the patcher there.

Try disabling any anti-virus type software in case it's being overly aggressive and blocking the exe from being written to disk.

If none of those work you'll need to try patching over a VPN as there's probably a broken HTTP cache between your PC and our CDN.
