Pick : 100% Rarity or 30% Quantity

Namingly Wondertrap or Goldwyrm?
I've been thinking for some time until now =/. In other thread some claimed the ratio is about 1.6 : 1 <IIQ v.s IIR>. So accordingly, you will also choose 100% rarity over 30% quantity, yes? With wondertrap it's 317IIR, 127IIQ; with goldwyrm it's 217IIR, 157IIQ. What do you think? |

Quantity >>>> Rarity

What are you hunting for? Uniques or gems/currency or both?
If it's just uniques, then 100% rarity is better. Otherwise go for quantity. Face it, all of your suggestions are worse than this idea: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/657756 Last edited by dudiobugtron#4663 on Mar 20, 2013, 10:00:00 PM

That ratio seems pretty arbitrary to me. IIR and IIQ are equal for finding Rares and Uniques (and combining some of each is more efficient than stacking one or the other, since they're multiplicative), but only IIQ helps *at all* for finding gems, currency items, and 5L/6L gear. IIR *only* helps you find more Rares and Uniques.
With Wondertrap, you will find ~9.47x more Rares and Uniques (compared to 0 IIR / 0 IIQ), and 2.27x more of everything else. With Goldwyrm, you will find ~8.15x more Rares and Uniques, and 2.57x more of everything else. To compare the two options directly: Wondertrap will net you about 16% more Rare and Unique drops. Goldwyrm will net you about 13% more gems, orbs, and 5L/6Ls. edit: these numbers don't take into account the unspecified diminishing returns formula. See the following several pages of lulz. " Agreed. IIQ increases your chance to get currency. IIR does not. The game does not adapt to you, you adapt to it.

" Yes, because getting those uniques worth 30+ exalteds doesn't translate into currency at all. They're practically worthless! The pen is mightier than the sword, yet it is more permanent than a pencil.

IIR makes your IIQ better.
IIQ makes your IIR better. Use the one you have less of. |

I love me some currency...IIQ > IIR

" This is nice, thanks for the redux. Much appreciated I did some field tests, yesterday in some maps. 100% more rarity seems to give me more rares from boss, whilst 30% quantity gave less rares, "BUT" rest are mostly magics, doesn't it mean which you've had enough rarity already? Oddly enough in both cases, most of the item dropped from boss are in blue, ofc some rares in it. Provided that I already had enough rarity in killing boss tier monsters, why 30% quantity gave me less rares? <I know the sample size is extremely small, but still that's what I found or felt XD > Last edited by minimalistjason#6304 on Mar 20, 2013, 10:27:44 PM

item rarity has diminishing returns.
item rarity has diminishing returns. item rarity has diminishing returns. item rarity has diminishing returns. item rarity has diminishing returns. item rarity has diminishing returns. item rarity has diminishing returns. item rarity has diminishing returns. item rarity has diminishing returns. item rarity has diminishing returns. item rarity has diminishing returns. item rarity has diminishing returns. item rarity has diminishing returns. item rarity has diminishing returns. item rarity has diminishing returns. item rarity has diminishing returns. Get it? The rest of the 'end-game' content will be available along with a heap of new stuff when the game launches in a few months time. From what I've seen it's going to be awesome. - Michael_GGG
