If you are not using a META build, you can't play endgame AT ALL
Isn't it nice to have a game where you get to decide how you play? I have never played a meta build, each league I work on my same build and see if I can improve it with different items or different tree path. Sometimes I get far and sometimes it doesn't work. That's why POE is best Diablo like game ever. Want to have an easy time and relax? Great, play the meta build. Want to explore your own build and struggle, Awesome do that. Play how you want, don't criticize others for doing what they want. Btw, My build is usually max block dominating blow, last league I made it to level 94 before I got bored. This league its max block cyclone. doing well so far.

" Actually he's 100% wrong, and here's why: I have never played a "meta" build, and guess what??? I CAN and DO play end game! That right there makes the OP's title wrong. My totem Heiro that I've played the last 3-4 leagues have been doing eng game quiet easily and holy shit it's not a "meta" build! |

" Or you could just play "meta" and would not have to do all it. It would be worth it from a hardcore perspective or a i want a level 100 one. But for softcore players like op nope, play meta, die a bunch and do what you want. ggg made many skills/builds/options less playable with the last updates but that doesn't make it good, its just another bit of balance shifting into bossing/crafting which many players don't enjoy. |

Not true, my MS Chieftain easily steamrolling T16 maps and conquerors at Awakener 5 (though Sirus beat me on my first and only try so far because I am bad at that meteor maze, so stuck at Awakener level 5 until I farm them again) but I got him down to 25% no problem. Metamorphs in the lab stand no chance.
I die a lot because I don't read enough, any less regen mods will kill me but other than that and baranite thaumaturge it's pretty smooth. If I made a push I could go 90-95 on T10 maps brainlessly or rolling T16 more carefully and not doing metamorphs. But I dont have much time to play. Most expensive piece of my gear is 6L loreweave but could get away with 5L, so budget friendly too. |

This entire thread boils down to: if you are bad at the game, you need to play a meta build to finish the endgame. If you are good at the game, it doesn't matter what build you're playing. If you're an experienced player, you'll find non-meta builds that do just as fine. And that's fine.
The opposite of knowledge is not illiteracy, but the illusion of knowledge.

" Cause, you can, right?

So between 2 shits avaible we need to be grateful we have a less stinky shit to eat right? Feedback and criticism helps the game (and any bussiness) to grow and at the same time push the owners/devs to not be lazy cause if we "eat" or play whatever shit they deliver and pay for it soon we will only have shit to eat cause no point in improving if everybody is happy and paying for shit. |

" Oh, you can't answer? Well, if you can't, then I repeat what I already said and that you don't understand, to see if this time you can understand. " Bethesda is known for having good ideas and terrible realization of them. GGG is a Bethesda subsidiary or what?

Bunch of bad players started this thread because they are awful at this game.
So all you really end up having is playing the economy, and plowing maps. And if you want to get anywhere on your character, you are better off mowing monsters down like weeds and just collecting pennies of the ground as fast as possible than any meaningful item hunting.
