micro stutters/fps drops

Was googling to see if can get anwers to FPS drops and got to here.

For some weird reasons POE performs poorly on my PC. Bought a pretty good gaming PC last year, Ryzer 7, NVidia 1070i, 32MB memory, SSD. I used to run POE in 4K with all bells and whistles with no problems.

But recently we been playing some 100% delirium maps with another guardian, and FPS dropping to 2!!! Literally unplayable. I changed resolution to lowest 800x600, went to NVidia control panel and turned off and set max performance, changed global 3D setting to max power, played around with POE graphics setting, trying not just the lowest but middle too - nothing. FPS still drops.

At least before i could set low resolution and then the FPS would be stable. Now it is crappy resolution AND 2-3 FPS. All other software is off, i shut down all browsers, restart PC, start only POE. No viruses/malware. All other games run just fine in 4K. POE cant handle 800x600.

Anyone had similar problem? think its the delirium
I think I found a solution:

I have a i7-4770 and rx570 computer and my experience with spikes was terrible.

Then I remember an issue that I had on and envy laptop years ago -> thermal throttling.

I don't have any idea how this game was written. But I do notice fps spikes happens when a new spell animation is coming (for example you are approaching to a new monster with a new set of spells). I think this triggers a high gpu load and since high end video cards try to process this new information asap, increasing gpu temp to fast.

But also my gpu is trying to protect itself, so when this happens gpu is programming to reduce its speed until a reach a safe temp. That could explain my first image.

So what did i do? I set a more agressive profile, keeping gpu fan always on. This is what I get:

It's not perfect but now I can play the game :)

Hope it helps !
(i'm still tuning gpu fan)

EDIT: Today I changed thermal compound of both cpu and gpu and I get better results:

:D

I have an i7-4770K with 16 GB of RAM and I was running a GTX 970 in SLI at 1440p. I thought that maybe I was finally running into issues with video memory so I ran out and picked up an RTX 260 and fired it up today. I noticed i was having the same issues.

I turn on Hardware Monitor to see if I could find some other issues going on. Sure enough, I found the issue. Basically the game runs your CPU at 100% across all cores / threads. I turned off the multi-threading setting and saw a noticeable improvement in game play, however, it is still running my cpu at about 90% across all cores and threads. Eventually you'll run into the issue again the longer you play.

I've tried low video settings but saw no noticeable improvement. I'll try dropping the resolution down to 1080p but I don't expect that this will improve the situation.

Can anyone else confirm the CPU over utilization?
I tried 1080p with lowest settings across the board. I even turned on dynamic resolution. The issues actually got worse. I'm still hitting 100% CPU utilization across all cores. I'm impressed that my CPU hasn't gotten over 63 degrees C.

I would love to see someone else confirm that they're also seeing 100% CPU utilization.

I forgot to mention that I'm also using a G-Sync monitor.

I quit playing Path of Exile over this issue last year. I spent an INORDINATE amount of time looking for a fix before quitting, with no response or guidance from CPC. It was pretty insulting, and I honestly have to assume that this is some kind of spyware or something at this point.

I spent around $1,000 to make a new gaming PC in 2019, and it won't play a top down game from 2013, 6 years old, without stuttering, on any settings? Come on people, SUSPICIOUS AF YEAH?

FX-9590, 1070Ti, yeah, no excuse, this should work and never put either gpu or cpu at load.

If not spyware then definitely miners.

LOL.

My rig is a Core I7-3770K with a nVidia 1070Ti, 16 GB ram and SSD.
Working fine in standard and don't have any crashes or DC.
I just noticed I was having micro stuttering problems with this game. I figured out that if I Disabled Engine Multithreading it fixed the problem. Hope this might help someone.

CPU: AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1950X
GPU: GTX 1080TI
I have a 9700k @5.1k all cores/2070 super/32gb ram

I am getting stutter lag that essentially makes playing hardcore impossible. I had to halt my progression because its becoming to risky. I've spent about 3 hours just testing different settings / fixes and so far havent figured it out.

I used to play this game just fine, nothings changed on my end... Feelsbadman I used to just scoff at peoples problems / poor optimization in this game and chuckle that I had enough hardware to push through it...

GGG I used to have the upmost respect for you. I loved your product and the way you conducted yourself as a business. Lately my faith has been waning. Its not just this issue and the many like it other people are facing either... GGG you're breaking my heart.
