I've been crashing on Kuduku and Faun and Tane since the release of Metamorph but I'm currently not crashing at all. I turned off Freesync on my monitor and set it's refresh rate to 60hz instead of 144hz, and turned off all options in Radeon Software in both the Graphics and Display tab, except for Wait for Vertical Sync which I set to Off, unless application specifies. Running in Windowed Fullscreen and have V-Sync turned on in the game options as well. I've summoned Tane about a dozen times in different tilesets with no crash, and I've gone back to Kuduku and Faun to test and didn't get a crash either. Might just be luck but I was crashing constantly before this.
works for me too so far, yesterday no crashes wwith 60hz and no freesync, today with 144 and freesync crashes all over again

Hello.
I get this "Failed to connect to instance" message and game drops me whenever I choose a character to join the game. I've tried every gateway and league, old standard characters or newly created, cause I'm able to see my character list and create new ones.
Does anybody have any idea about this?

It's been a smooth gaming experience from starting of Act 5 to Act 7. Until I entered to The Ashen Fields.
The crashes were being crazy at Act 2. Yet there is another Act 2 (7) makes the game unplayable. Both of the two parts' Act 2s are broken. Is it just a coincidence?
I can't even imagine Act 9 by the way because Act 4 was the real nightmare. Crashes pushed my nerves so hard but I tried to pass thru' so maybe I could get rid of crashes at some point I thought. But... It getting worse.
Looks like I'm done with this game. It's been days since Metamorph started I could even not reach to the Atlas.
The game is simply unplayable at the moment.
Edit: Tried this 60 Hertz trick (I don't use FreeSync anyway) nothing changes. I tried every different configuration NOTHING IS BEING A BIT BETTER.

You can try the Vulkan workaround ( few pages back, top post) if you can get over initial big fps drops (and fps drops if something big you have not seen yet with the workaround will take place). Just a note, if you already driver crashed, I recommend restarting your computer before trying the workaround (as the driver is in inconsistent state). Also I recommend to switching to windowed fullscreen mode before trying to workaround as alt+tab might crash the game while in pure fullscreen mode.

Playing with the Vulkan feels like I'm playing with my old notebook. Disgusting. BUT still better than computer killer crashes.

I can imagine. You are quite far in the game and lot of stuff is going on screen. If you would be playing it from act 1, the experience would be much better (except towns, because players MTX). However once the shader cache is fully built (it is saved, so game/computer restarts does not matter), it should be (mostly) smooth ride.

i had no crashes, but holy shit, HOW COME I DIDNT KNOW ABOUT THIS THING EARLIER, this is like playing totally different game, constant 130+fps on any map and during any encounter, pickup stuff up from the grounds isnt tiresome anymore, HOLYSHIT
i have vega 56 and ryzen 3600, with dx11 i had maps where my fps would constantly be 50-70, now with vulkan its fucking smooth AF
how come GGG haven't implemented something like this into core yet?
btw im using 9.5.2 old driver, no crashes

Vulkan seemed to fix it. But oh wow is the performance bad. I get it should smooth out as time goes on but damn.

That Vulkan workaround crashes my PC as soon as I start the game.
Every other map when the league mechanic spawns the game crashes.

Yeah, unfortunately 5700 was added in 9.7.x driver... so we cannot go that far back. But I am surprised it works that well for you. You don't even have initial stuttering?
