Worked for me in some 100% crash scenarios (like picking up organs in dried lake)! This could be the solution.

My Radeon Settings looks different so I couldn't make this setup. But tried as far as I could (turned "Wait for sync" to "Always off" and turned on "Rad Anti-lag) - doesn't help.

All I did was turning off Radeon Image Sharpening. (Driver 19.12.2)
I have a workaround that fixed 100% of my crashes, it will not work for everyone but if you have a friend that doesn't crash, all you have to do is play together in a party making sure YOU ARE NOT THE INSTANCE LEADER.
We're progressing thru the whole game without a single crash and without avoiding any Methamorph content.
All we're doing is remembering to let him enter new maps before I do.

Fixed my Tane problem with this.
When you go into your steamapps\common\Path of Exile and delete your Shader folder you dont have any problems at all.

edit:
CachedHLSLShaders only this folder causes the crash so far the other Shader folder doesnt.

Deleted 2 folders having "Shaders" in name: about 9 mb and 11 mb. Didn't help. Deleted CachedHLSLShaders before launching - didn't help. Deleted CachedHLSLShaders after entering the map - didn't help.
But!!! Looks like helps if you delete the folder when in-game, but before going to map.

workaround confirmed:

kill all AMD/Radeon tasks

delete CachedHLSLShaders folder (every time it repopulates in [Steamapps>Common>pathofexile])

After playing with the Radeon software settings, the crashes seem to have stopped completely with 5700

Go to Gaming -> Global graphics and use the setup from the screenshot.

reposting this as no1 is confirming whether they tried it and if it worked for them. Id say, update the thread only if u have supposed fixes since at this point we are just spamming and fixes are lost in previous pages.

Can confrm that this doesn't work. Crashes continue with exact same settings. Guessing you're just in an area that for whatever region doesn't crash, try do the ledge or old fields again and see what happens.
Now it is crashing again.

Not sure if this helps GGG figure out the issue, but when I crash and come back the entire map is revealed. Could it be something to do with Tane using the map info to decide on how to spawn and it somehow affecting how the gpu responds?

I'm using a 5700 XT.
After about an hour of game play with the spawning of Tane after each organ pick up; It hasn't crashed at all. I haven't changed a single setting or deleted any needed system files. IT's a small change in game play but it works.
Having the same issue..
