They have a post up with all the new awakened gems, some of them grant +1 level of supported main gem, others give various buffs (cast / attack speed, damage etc). Some are good and worth it, others are very minor upgrades.

Will admit, the ones that are just "Support Gem, but MOAR" are super boring. Nobody needed "Penetrates More Resistances" Awakened [X] penetration gems.

Stuff like Awakened Spell Cascade, Awakened Added [X] Damage, or Awakened Melee Physical - the ones that add new behaviors or modifiers? Those are cool. Awakened Spell Cascade is super neat.

Awakened "MOAR Support" gems that simply have a bigger 'MOAR' number?

Boring.

Even if I'm honestly behind the idea of these gems being the gems the exiles we once were used to kill the Shaper/Elder.

Not really in game development.

If you design something, it works, but everyone shrugs and says meh, I say it was a failure.

Otherwise what's the point? I mean can you imagine a development meeting where someone pitches a meh idea, that likely won't appeal to many but doesnt suck either. Seems like a dumb premise to work with.

But ok. I mean I dont want to debate semantics, but if it's how you described it, they are a failure imo.

they are also a failure in that many of them are just not worth the added massive XP curve and releveling you'll need to do before they reach useful levels.

I thought they were supposed to be explicitly better (even if only by a small amount at lvl 1) than the lvl 20 normal support they supercede?
