What is wrong with the strongboxes?

1. Never leave your hideout without an anti-freeze flask. If you don't ID boxes and open them as-is, the flask will save you from possibly freezing and getting ganged up on or an ice nova trap 1shotting you.
2. Use a movement skill. The second you tag the box, get the hell away from it. This will keep mobs from swarming you and any traps from killing you. I recommend using a movement skill twice to make sure you're a safe distance away from ice novas. 3. The boxes are worth the risk, especially if you're mapping and stack sextant mods that improve strongbox monster drop quantity. I can tell you from experience that I once ran a map with Monstrous Treasure prophecy active (turns the entire map into strongboxes) while it was under the effect of a sextant mod. I walked out with a TON of currency and other valuables. PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

This is 100% on you man. It sucks to lose that much currency on the AG but how do you not have a cast when damage taken offering setup? If you did, it would have automatically triggered, blown up all the corpses around you and saved your life along with the AG. I can stand on top of any strongbox in the game on my summoner and ignore the vaal detonate dead mod (the most dangerous mod by far) due to this.
What you have, which is a cast while channeling offering setup linked to cyclone is awesome but it is entirely possible to die within the cooldown period before cast while channeling can cast your offering. Vaal detonate dead is a dodge or die mechanic if you can't remove the corpses. You can eat 10 or more explosions in the .35 to .70 seconds it would have taken you to cast yours. This isn't a bug. This isn't unbalanced. You have the tools to trivialize this mechanic on a necromancer. You didn't use it and tried to ignore the mechanic. That wasn't wise. Carry an anti freeze flask and just movement skill out of it in the future. You can also change your gems to include cast when damage taken. You keep saying it's a bug but that is how vaal detonate dead works. Each corpse detonated does a decent amount of damage. All the corpses explode within 1-2 seconds. When you have 40-50 corpses exploding this is more damage than anything else in the game. It can do that level of damage because it is avoidable. |

Its UNCOMMON to find Mirrors...yet it CAN happen at any time, even though you played HUNDREDS of hours without finding one. " The are no limits of the damage "detonates nearby corpses" can deal...more corpses, more dmg (Im not sure if map modifiers add dmg) |

Those monsters have questionable design because if you don't know what they do, you just get screwed without much that you can do to avoid it. But the box mod ? It's literally written on it, there is no excuse there. Vaal DD is nothing more than a chaining DD, and many monsters can use Detonate dead. " This is not a bug. This is only your mistake.
