PoE is meaningless, quit your addiction

I agree with everything said, although I'd reason the boxes are a necessary evil for GGG to monetize the game. They invest heavily on each league and put that money into growth to deliver better content, the money's gotta come from somewhere. Doing my part in buying the 2 big season-specific supporter packs every season (that's what, 33€ / month?). Not buying boxes, tho.

Necessary evil FOR WHAT!?
You're advocating for lootboxes as something which is necessary. Get real, nobody on the dev team is getting paid more because of them - you're just necessary eviling China's fat pockets while making a pathetic excuse for your gambling habits.

Lol you could hardly call POE predatory and don't pretend the servers we play on are free nor do the developers working on continued updates work for free.

Goddamn, you have literally over 10,000 HOURS OF GAMEPLAY IN POE and you're trying to convince us that the game is not predatory. The worst part is that no matter how many times or in what way it's explained to you, you don't even see anything wrong with it because you're so deep in it.
Day and night every day, every year for 6 years in a row just clicking one spot on the screen with one mouse button and that's your excuse for your whole existence.

You are the absolute prime victim of this game.

The thing with arpg's is: people that play these types of games like the type of gameplay. Adding other game types, like synthesis did will not go over well(especially with how clunky it was). Players that play arpg's like killing monsters by the dozens, and gearing towards doing it faster and better.

It is great that you found something more meaningfull than PoE. Also not everyone that plays PoE is addicted. If you were, than it is a good thing you broke free from it.

Enjoy whatever you enjoy!

Making a claim that people like different things and that not everyone is addicted is a relativistic argument - you surely don't think that the statements in this thread are absolute? Everyone believes that there are people who play 1 hour per day, but this is a rarity - just look at the steam reviews, it's horrifying.

So you essentially said nothing in that aspect.

People should not always enjoy whatever they enjoy - compulsive gaming especially is bound to doom us as human beings because of our biological and pathological features - as an example a person will eventually feel lonely. Is it acceptable for us to let our fellow human beings become these walking meat machines of depression? I don't think so!

Actually, you assume everyone is addicted... some players can play weeks for 6-8 hours a day and not be addicted. Players like me. Love the game, but if I do not feel like playing, got my 36 challenges already or if I have anything else I want to do, then I will not play. In fact, as soon as I have 36 challenges, I will go play another game.

You also seem to compare everyone to yourself, about getting addicted to a game and feeling lonely... some players make actual online friendships. Regardless of if they have friends in real life or not.

And people do enjoy different things, even in different ways. This is why there are multiple brands and games available. Most players that like arpg's, play multiple hours a day but this does not relate to addiction in any way or enjoyment in any way. Arpg's are primarily grinding games. Which attract players who like to grind for a long time, and who have the time to play for longer playing sessions.

So yes, enjoy what you enjoy. If you feel you do not enjoy it, but can't stop, that is true addiction.

For the record: I am against loot/mysteryboxes. I prefer to buy the items outright.
Sorry_Game_Boys reminds me SoMEhoW of Kiss_Me_Quick ...

Same avatar, same music choice, same shit he talks about all the time.

Is that some ban evasion you are doing?

I totally agree. Personally, I'm not addicted to alcohol at all. I can drink vodka for a few weeks, 6-8 hours a day and not be addicted. People like me love alcohol, but if I do not feel like drink vodka, I do not drin it. In fact, as soon as I'm fed up with vodka, I go to drink whiskey or cognac. And people do enjoy different things, even in different ways. Some like beer, some wine, and some all at once, alternating with vodka. They can drink multiple hours a day but this does not relate to addiction in any way!
You have been placed on probation for: ● Make hateful or needlessly negative comments ● Personally attack or cause harm to the reputation of others ● Antagonise others in an obnoxious manner ●

Sara, I'm sorry for not fully responding to everything but I'm doing it so you'd have as little distraction as possible to digest this.

I tell you that making a claim that different people liking different things is pointless because it's obvious.
THEN
as a response
to THAT argument
you tell me that
"People do enjoy different things".

Definition in alcoholism addiction is: if you want/think at least once per month to get drunk, you are addicted.

Now apply to PoE.
At the end of the day literally anything you do in life is just a way to spend time.
We all die eventually, the only thing that makes us different from each other is how we spend the time we are given.
Who are you to tell anyone how to spend theirs, why even bother in the first place?

When your child is foaming in the corner with a needle in his vein, make sure you crouch down, look in his eyes, give him a nice pat on his shaking body and let him know that his life to spend is his and you should not even bother.
Am I right or am I right?

So everybody in the world is technically an alcoholic? Neat, you learn something every day.

You're very right. If you get into that position in the first place you deserve it.
Need a new signature, cuz name change. I dunno though. I guess this seems fine. Yeah, this is good.
