[Major Damage/Mapping Improvements-Update 7.1.22 PoB/Vid] The Fortified Summoner: HoP MI Champion

Got some mid-league updates for everyone! (Updated 11/3)

First off I'm going to go ahead and state that I think the "official" version of this build is swapping over to Zombies/HoP moving forward, and dropping HoA. The reason: Zombies/HoP lets us use a rare chest (or Craiceann's if you are willing to invest in it) and run dual-Guilt rings, for ~2.5k extra base armor. This is absolutely huge, and eliminates our dependence on dual Determination Watcher's Eye, which have been essentially unavailable the whole season. Bonus: Life regen is actually better than the HoA variant, and damage is somewhat higher too!

Here is my current gear for reference. Note: for those starting out I recommend a rare chest, with as much life and resistances as you can get. Running Craiceann's Carapace is definitely bis for survivability, but it requires you to invest significantly in ele/chaos resistance on your belt/helmet, as well as on your cluster jewels. Using a rare chest with some good resistances will make this much less difficult/expensive.

"Starter" PoB, no super-expensive items in here, use this if you are starting out to the build and/or on a budget.

My current PoB; has some expensive things like Aul's Uprising, Curse on hit Circle of Guilt, Elemental Damage Helmet etc, but HoP damage is essentially double the starter PoB so it should give some ideas for min/maxing.

Tanky setup (my current setup): https://pastebin.com/DRMEeDKE

The reason: Zombies/HoP lets us use a rare chest piece and run dual-Guilt rings, for ~1.5k extra base armor. This is absolutely huge, and lessens our dependence on dual Determination Watcher's Eye, which have been essentially unavailable the whole season. Bonus: Life regen is actually better than the HoA variant, and damage is somewhat higher too!

No idea, I have yet to try! Generally speaking the higher the mob density the more we regen with life gain on hit, so I wouldn't be concerned. I'll buy the watchstones as I get currency and post my experience when I run a few.

yea that would be awesome. currently hunting for a solid, lazy no flask one mouse build that is easy to play. the replica alberon im running seems to come cloest at 3k str but dps at 100% juiced t16s tend to be a problem. therefore i doubt t19s will be good. looking forward to your test

Take a look! This is like my 4th or so attempt; I definitely feel that pathing is really important on these crazy maps. Going in a straight line is a good way to run face first into a million projectiles and splat; moving in arcs seems to be a much better solution all told.

I wouldn't say it's a one button build though; you still use infernal cry/convocation pretty much on cd, and you should mark tough targets with predator. I'm happy with the performance overall, the build seems to be holding up pretty well! I avoided vulnerability/EE/Ele weakness/-max res as those all sound scary here. Maybe I'll get a bit braver as I gain some more experience.

I'm leveling this build, and I just saw your update. Do you still recommend leveling with Infernal blow until around 80, or do you think I can switch earlier to MI?

Yes! Dominating blow is still used for leveling. As to when to switch, basically you need both Minion Instability and Necromantic Aegis. My experience is picking up these nodes as well as good amount of armor and life isn't really possible until around lvl 80 or so, but you could probably switch earlier as long as you have those nodes.

Just as an update, I tried swapping at 70. It feels a bit squishy still, but I'm absolutely loving the playstyle. thanks for the guide and updates!
