computer specs
hmm, its seems there is contridiction. I am sure that POE demands more of CPU than your dedicated GPU, for both my systems. is this abnormal? Perm. Retired from this unforgiving land of the Exiles.

It might actually run better on the Giant monitor using a higher resolution.
As for the Default settings the game chooses...I do not ne;oeve it actually chooses the best for performance, it should chooses the best for visual. Eye candy is great for the first 20times you see the same thing, then performance is your concern when your system is low end. Glad you have a better setup, but I think with some more tweaking, your less powerful one could be usable / enjoyable. OS: WinXP SP2 32bit

I am wondering how well my own machine will handle PoE.
Core 2 Quad 2.5gHz +/- 6 GB RAM Radeon HD 4650 1680x1050 ? About what can I expect? From the general gist it sounds like I will be ok if I turn shadows off. If I need an upgrade I figure a HD 7750 should cover it within my budget, while not needing a power supply upgrade. Thoughts, similar setups, rants, trolls? not enough time for gaming!

" I run PoE on max settings (very very smooth) on a very similar build Core 2 (not even a quad) 4 GB RAM HD 4870 1920x1080 So I think you should be able to run it with shadows and almost maxed settings. what does everyone else reakon? Give me a lever and a fulcrum.....hold on boss whats a fulcrum look like??

Should play it nicely, specs seem better than mine :) And I am not complaining, not running maxed out either :P

" Clearly you are not familiar with the graphic cards seeing as you compare a 4650 with a 4870. The 4650 is an extremely weak card, don't let the 4xxx generation fool you, any AMD card below 57xx or 67xx is a weak card. In fact the 4650 is quite similar to the outdated X1950. I would recommend you trading to your initial 7750 or any similar card around that price tag (6850, 6770, GTX 550 Ti) Also you mention your power supply? How much do you currently have? a 600 - 650w Power supply can easily handle a GTX 580 unless you have something unorthodox or running Sli (or Crossfire with Amd of course) As for processors pretty much any AMD 3800 dual core or similar can run the game on minimum settings (with some latency issues). A quad core can without anything else hindering it preform this game on max settings. The preformance are more likely to drop with server issues and sometime just lowering the resolution tends to fix alot of latency issues. |

How many drugs did it take to create this thread?

" What? You jelly? Though I don't think a person should judge a topic being on drugs when he's been writing following text on the forum "IVE SAID IT BEFORE AND I'LL SAY IT AGAIN SLAVE GIRLS NEED TO BE BLUE WITH LARGE MECHANICAL DILDOS." Just saying =D Computer specs are generally a good topic and an existing one on pretty much each game forum. Of all the garbage people posting I don't see this as the ultimate cannabis trip. |

I have installed PoW on my Notebook just to see if it can run it.
This is the spec: Intel Celeron SU2300 / 1.2 GHz Dual-Core 3 GB DDR3. 32 bit Win7. Intel GMA 4500MHD graphic chip. If I turn everything to minium, it will work "ok". I can play the game but it will only do about 15 fps in 720p on my TV (have an up to date Plasma Screen). Did not want to push it to 1080p. Lost where no man has been lost before. I have a decent rig that is a few years old and run everything maxed out on 1680x1050 resolution.
the game runs smooth as a (dead) baby's behind. One thing I don't understand is people with crappy PC's with onboard (integrated) graphics thinking that they can play games on their glorified calculators. Seriously, if you want to play games then an entry level GFX card will only set you back a few hundred dollars. Its like people crying about being unable to play xbox games on their sega master system. although I must admit I am looking to see how scalable the game is... maybe I can dust off my old ZX81 and play PoE in ascii hex... :: sƃuıɥʇ ɟo ʎɔuɐʇsuoɔ ǝɥʇ ɟo ʎʇılɐǝɹ lɐuıɟ ǝɥʇ ǝq plnoʍ sıɥʇ ʎɐʍɐ ʇǝƃ
