This is the most unfriendly league to non-meta builds I have ever played.

9/10 leagues are like this

Not like this. I usually play off-meta builds and never felt like league content is out of reach for me. It wasn't always easy, but never borderline impossible like blight.

Tho i must admit, this league feels great and super fun with a summoner.

I tell you this, Legion was dead for most players, unless they had the AOE meta build. So was pretty much every league except Betrayel and Beastiary.

I am super happy that we finally get a league for everyone again and you won´t change that. Speed meta is annoying and I hope we will never see it again. I absolutely love this league!

Lol Blight isn't for everyone though..

Aren't you one playing almost exclusively summoners ?
lol
SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.
I have to agree with OP on this. Blight is literally impossible to handle with certain builds - I don't think melee has any hope of handling multi-direction blights solo in endgame. I've so far this league tried a wander, a ball lit trapper, and two variants of summoners (elemancer + necromancer), and only the summoners have any prayer at clearing blighted maps. Even the ball lit trapper has a real fight on his hands - although he can knock down Atziri without giving her a chance to do anything, he just can't keep up with the number of inbound bosses. Only the minion builds can.

Combine this with the fact that server-side performance is STILL badly suffering in encounters with a lot of mobs (mostly Blights, but I'm seeing it a couple other places too) and this league really does add up to either roll a summoner or gtfo.

Sorry maybe english isn't your first language?

How is this league for "Most players"? This league feels like shit if you aren't playing minions... how is that "for everyone"?

Can you please clarify because it seems as if I see this league as the EXACT OPPOSITE of what you just think I said.

Yes exactly this. It so overtuned to one very specific playstyle. Maybe 2 if you include some super buffed 5 Totem setup.

Basically any skill that require you hold down a button: Attack skills, self-cast spells, channeling skills (divine ire)... makes the whole mechanic falls apart.
The difference between blight and legion is if your build is weak for legion content you get a percentage of the rewards each encounter whereas if your build is weak for blight you get nothing in hard encounters and everything in easy encounters.

I’ve done two builds so far this league, one SR/RF, the other impale spectral shield throw. Both have around 1.5m shaper dps. Neither is actually good at blight(partially due to conditions needed to hit max dps). I saw some advice to use abyssal cry, so I’m going to try that. I could probably make the SR build better at it with an explode on kill weapon.

I actually like the mechanic when I’m not getting gibbed by fireballs or overrun by a boss with 50 million ehh.
I had to comment on this. I'm playing a self-cast fireball elementalist (pretty off-meta), and I've had no problem doing blighted maps up to t14 (haven't had a t15 drop yet).

I'm sure it's not quite as straight forward as a totem or minion build, but I've yet to have actual issues with the league mechanic.

No idea how to link to a specific char, but profile: https://www.pathofexile.com/account/view-profile/Candlejack297/characters and Pewpewpewz is the char.

Unfortunately, It's been like this for many leagues in a row, each one getting worse and worse (to the point that now 60% of players play one build - the one that coincidentally has the MTS). As a non meta player, I haven't even seen a league boss (like Mastermind) in many leagues since playing as a stun lock or bleed build etc just isn't fast enough against the timers to ever kill the vomit of monsters.
with good gear and the use of oils things got a lot better for me

it felt impossible at first, but when i swaped to slow/debuff/block towers only it got a lot better
there is always a chance to fail the blight maps.but i clear over 90% of my blight maps successfully

i only run spell builds though and those got a huge buff for me with the "+1 to x spellskill gems" mod

the league seems to be very gear dependent compared to other leagues, because the blight maps are kinda all or nothing unlike legion

another thing that helped me alot is placing as many towers as i can in good spots as possible before the first wave spawns, since upgrading is "faster" than chosing a tower type
