This is the most unfriendly league to non-meta builds I have ever played.
Put simply,
If you aren't playing some OP bullshit set-it-and-forget it skill, this fucking league feels like absolute trash. Minion, Totem or brands? Yay!! Melee attack builds? LOL. Self cast spells? LOL. Like wtf is this shit. You have blight "bosses" that have effective health greater than shaper. It's actually super fucking frustrating that if you aren't playing one of the meta builds than this league sucks complete ass. I feel bad for the venom gyre builds or poison based builds. You need 5 Shapers per second toon to even make a dent in those rare or unique blight monsters too. Those towers do absolutly nothing to kill or stop those "big" monsters.

" RIGHT!? Like fuck 1 or 2 mil shaper dps. That feels maybe OKAYish... if you aren't having to attack or press an active button. But god forbid you have to hold a button down to do damage (aka attack/spell selfcast) and all of the sudden tower management is a pain in the ass. Also why do blight bosses 1 shot the stupid fungal growth thing? There is no opportunity to clear mobs then move back to the boss, do DPS, and set up towers. This shit is frustrating on anything except my minion build. I hate THE limiting factor. |

I am playing HoA Jugg poisoning with storm brand, and I don't even think my cyclone HoA Jugg version in Standard almost fully maxed out toon could handle those blight monsters coming from five directions.

Finally someone’s saying this! I’m surprised this topic hasn’t been brought up often before now.
If you’re running a meta build, particularly summoner this league, you’re experiencing crazy powercreep and wondering how this game got so dang easy. If you’re running anything else - especially melee - Blight maps are simply WAY too hard. Powercreep and overnerfs go hand-in-hand to make the gameplay experience unpleasant for all. Divine Ire and Lacerate/bleed were bad decisions on my part this league (they run non-Blight content just fine, however). Wasted a lot of blighted maps on them. I’m probably going to throw in the towel and run a golemancer as GGG intended so I don’t waste any more. We're all in this leaky boat together, people.

" Lowest player base in the last few leagues combined with the fact that 50% of the league is rolling summoners nobody is complaining. It's literally FREE loot for summoners. I just click on a couple of towers if I want and then just pick stuff up. |

GGG should do at least the following:
- Remove/seriously nerf (i'd rather say fix) those fire barrage BS monsters. They aren't always a death sentence for a mellee-range character if you're fast and have lots of leech+LGoH+regen, but sure as hell a huge deterrant from doing league content on HC. - Do something about those bosses. I understand they are meant to be a source of "OMG" moments, and it's ok, but right now they are more like "that's it, time to pack my stuff and get outta here" moments. They have too much life and deal too much damage. - Improve the tower UI. The buttons should be a lot more responsive. As i understand, right now they work like any other buttons in most UIs - you press LMB, you release LMB, and as long as your mouse cursor is still on the button, it clicks. this is already the 6th or 7th league like that
GGG doesnt care about non-meta players. they make 5 skills a league so f.. strong that they dont have to care about remaining 100 because noone is going to play these. melee rework was an exception - it was a stinking failure, melee was and still is garbage compared to anything else and it is just as clunky and pathetic as it ever was Cyclone eclipsed it all, just like now summoners eclipse glaring issues with game mechanics, balance, design etc |

9/10 leagues are like this, and the whole game has pretty much been this way since probably around breach. The broader variety of skills there are in the game and the more the league mechanic diverges from the core gameplay, the more this will happen, so I would expect this will continue.
Plus, much of this imbalance in the past has been obscured by technical gameplay issues, and the more polished the game becomes the clearer this aspect of the game is. I don't see it as an inherant problem though as long as the meta changes so no play style is overly favoured/neglected. It just happens that this league has dramatically shifted meta towards minions and totems, which haven't been meta for a long time. Saying that though, I normally like to play one melee build in a league, I was feeling the urge to try glacial hammer (because I don't care about clear speed). Not happening in Blight! |

A lot of nonsense, coming from someone who is angry that others can play the game now too...
I tell you this, Legion was dead for most players, unless they had the AOE meta build. So was pretty much every league except Betrayel and Beastiary. I am super happy that we finally get a league for everyone again and you won´t change that. Speed meta is annoying and I hope we will never see it again. I absolutely love this league! |
