Oni-Goroshi drop rate is ridiculous.

I have been a big fan of Oni-Goroshi builds for a while now, early game 6-link item that can carry you through the endgame? Yes please. But farming it since 3.2.0 has been a pain in the ass. I decided to run a little experiment and see, how much time will it take to get Oni-Goroshi with only one farming char. So i started my long journey. After reaching level 7 I started killing only Hillock and than reseting the location. After killing him about 900 times I have reached level 9. For killing those 900 Hillock I got 11 unique item drops: Last Resort, 2 Lifesprigs, Sidhebreath, 2 Blackhearts, 2 Thousand Ribbons, Lochtonial Caress, Goldrim and Tabula Rasa. Of course, that can be because RNG doesn't like me that much, but before 3.2.0 patch my chars had never reached level 8, and Oni-Goroshi would drop at about 20%-70% of 7 level exp. If making the drop chance a bit higher is not an option, perhaps making it a guaranteed drop at level 9 would be a good idea? Or at least make it a guaranteed drop at level 10, so that stupid players like me would know, that all that effort will eventually lead to something (also sorry for my poor english, i am not a native speaker :)).

I don't understand this. You could simply just play the game and once you have enough currency buy the sword. If this is SSF, then I understand you have no choice but to do it this way.

There is legit zero alive Oni-Goroshi deals in perma hc, plus, since i already wasted 9 days of my life on that, giving up doesn't seem like an option to me anymore. Also i am very stubborn and probably stupid, so whatever.

Farming it is the point, and you're doing it wrong. You should have four characters and cycle through them... getting each run to about 15-20 seconds. You'll get your sword(s) eventually. I got two this league. It happens.

I know how to farm it properly, believe me I did it quite a few times. The reason of doing it with one char was to see how much Hillocks do I need to kill for the drop. Calculating all kills with 4 chars is kinda annoying imo, so i decided to stick with only one for the experiment.

...You're both assuming I didn't ask for it to be even rarer than it currently is.

I actually did, but I also wanted Uber Hillock to spawn *at all levels*. I'm fairly convinced Uber Hillock won't even spawn until you're level 5. I mean, he'd eat your face off at levels 1-4 so I kind of get it, but I wasn't expecting him to be anywhere near as difficult as he is. That for me was the real shock. Waking up to a) an explosion of Oni Goroshi discussion/hunting and b) screenshots of how he spawned armies of zombies if you let him.

At any rate, yes, there's a thread for this, so I'll leave it there.
