Are you going to tell me that a mouse with built-in recoil control isn't cheating in a FPS game? "Having money is cheating", right? You are not supposed to control all flasks with one button - by design. Are flasks a bad design? Maybe. Are they unbalanced and to easy to fill? Arguably. Are those excuses to use macros? No. GGG have said that this is a bannable offence. I don't know what more there is to say? The ones making the rules say it's against the rules? The flask system needs a tweak, not a macro. " You're right, it's cheating. Very few people give a shit, because the system sucks. Taking actions to improve your experience in life despite rules or laws is an almost universal action people take, and this one has been going on for a long time. The flask system needs a tweak, and until that occurs it can be partially fixed locally via a macro. Enjoy the high horse; it's a very lonely animal. Technically software or Hardware automation is cheating. This is why most gaming championships are done in-house and everyone uses the same rig.
How much does it matter in a primary PvE game? That's not my decision. It is odd though that PoE has changed potions into cooldowns over the years. I'm playing a Pathfinder with Focus this round and the button spam is real. I think what bothers me is as I mentioned they're cooldowns not moves. I would much rather use that many different actions than just a buncha DPS dump keys. Still I guess it's a better than it used to be with 4 auras and 1 action as majority of builds. Now at least we have 2-4 actions and most the potions have some secondary non-DPS effect. "Never trust floating women." -Officer Kirac

PoE isn't really the game for people with disabilities or who wish to avoid carpal tunnel. Is this by design? Yes. Was it intentional? Probably not - I like to hold out hope that GGG are merely incompetents and not outright sociopaths - but a different approach to design might have come up with a system that doesn't equate skill with a state of physical health. until then, popsicle sticks.
