What did the trade manifesto say about this?

Go through crappy content(the lab) enough times and you start to tolerate it I guess. At least I am happy it is not one of GGG's biggest "successes". We never see anybody prizing it, lmao

1. the official site is plagued by API delays, their API is just kinda bad code, and clogs easily you see if every league. You get messages hours or even days late, so nothing have been done about it. poe.trade is whitelisted it gets the API information at the same speed as the official site. The problem is that the API in a very real sense cannot do it's job.

Everything else is just a bad trick to cover bad uninituitive design that's insane. Make sure to screw yourself over because most people are just flat out lying about the advertisements they post.

At the end of the day none of this trading stuff would come up if the API actually worked well, and people didn't constantly lie about what they wanted to trade. If those two things, and only those two things were gone we would actually have a 100% buyout auction house system the GGG fears.

That's it it's really that simple, the only things standing between GGG and total auction house anarchy is bad code, and scummy people.

Let's be honest here, the trade manifesto is written in some la-la land where trade is what GGG wanted in closed beta, before XYZ forced their hand. Now it's just an auction house that's poorly made, that allows people to be dicks to each other.

The official site doesn't use the API or at least isn't delayed with the updates as the other sites are. You can test this yourself, list an item for more than 99 exalts, setup a live search on poe.trade and the official site (and if you want any other site you use) and see how fast it updates. The official site will update within 1 min or less, while it can take upwards of 30 min for poe.trade to update.

So OBVIOUSLY they aren't using the same thing and therefore the official site isn't using the API, but rather pulling directly from the source, since you know it is 1st party it doesnt have to rely on the API.

The official site did indeed have issues the first weekend of this league and GGG is aware of the API issues, but their solution seems to be making sure the official site gets priority updates and the API is throttled, which causes poe.trade to be out of date for live searches always if someone sniped the item with the official site live search.

You also completely ignored the fact that many trades can be easily done by searching by recent listings, in the case of rare items that "trick" doens't work as well but using the official site does help significantly.

Remember when they said they were gonna do that with the lab what 3 years ago now?

And they specifically answered this in the podcast, they didnt feel it was necessary anymore and its not.

The API throttling isn't applied to commonly used public sites, like poe.trade, and poe.ninja only private indexers.

It's still totally necessary to have cross instance trading, and it's another silly excuse not to have it.

Then explain why poe.trade is 30 min out of date pretty much always, its obvious it doesnt get the same data as the official site, so everyone should stop fucking using it.
