What did the trade manifesto say about this?
" Something has been done, the official site, yet countless people refuse to use it despite it not being plagued by the API delays. Until people stop using poe.trade and other sites, there is absolutely no reason for GGG to do anything regarding trade, except maybe delay the data even further and\or by the poe.trade domain and redirect. I purchased 100 coves maps in the matter if min for 2-3c a piece, buying in bulk 10 at a time. Turns out buying bulk maps is actually pretty easy and most will want to do that trade because its larger trade then just 1 map someone needs for completion. But don't fret, you can easily buy maps, uniques, div cards, ect by using the official site and sorting by new listings. Just try it and see how much different of an experience it is. Currency is fine, so as long as you also use ur brain or take the 2-3 chaos loss on the exalt trade if you don't want to wait around. Alternatively setting up sell orders could also help. https://youtu.be/T9kygXtkh10?t=285

" Moving searching for items inside the game would be huge and everybody would notice it. It'd also be one step in the right direction because it'd remove alt+tabbing as well as the delays, it'd make trades much faster. Last edited by Johny_Snow#4778 on Jul 9, 2019, 4:19:31 PM

" Trading has worked reasonably well for years. An AH is a huge risk for said reasons. If your main argument for an AH is losing a 1C trade, while in a (high-reward one-portal Zana map) I think your argument is invalid. |

Well damn, of course it was a 1c trade, how did you know?

how did I fix this myself?
by vendoring anything less than 5c. of course you have freedom to do whatever.. this doesnt mean I agree with the in-famous "trade manifesto" it's just a way I make the trading quicker for the buyer and me. "Parade your victories, hide your defeats. Mortals are so insecure."
Once you break the cycle of fear no angels or demons can whisper you their sweet nothing words. poe0.2/10. Nuff said. |

" Remember when they said they were gonna do that with the lab what 3 years ago now? |

I support the idea of having a NPC in the hideout to allow such trades, only the NPC needs to consume some kind of tax for this to work imho (10% of each required set of currency rounded up for example ).
The seller could have the NPC ask him/her to hover over the desired items when setting the price, and the buyer would still need to hover over the item when buying it. SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

" 1. the official site is plagued by API delays, their API is just kinda bad code, and clogs easily you see if every league. You get messages hours or even days late, so nothing have been done about it. poe.trade is whitelisted it gets the API information at the same speed as the official site. The problem is that the API in a very real sense cannot do it's job. Everything else is just a bad trick to cover bad uninituitive design that's insane. Make sure to screw yourself over because most people are just flat out lying about the advertisements they post. At the end of the day none of this trading stuff would come up if the API actually worked well, and people didn't constantly lie about what they wanted to trade. If those two things, and only those two things were gone we would actually have a 100% buyout auction house system the GGG fears. That's it it's really that simple, the only things standing between GGG and total auction house anarchy is bad code, and scummy people. Let's be honest here, the trade manifesto is written in some la-la land where trade is what GGG wanted in closed beta, before XYZ forced their hand. Now it's just an auction house that's poorly made, that allows people to be dicks to each other. Last edited by j33bus#3399 on Jul 10, 2019, 12:22:15 AM

" The official site doesn't use the API or at least isn't delayed with the updates as the other sites are. You can test this yourself, list an item for more than 99 exalts, setup a live search on poe.trade and the official site (and if you want any other site you use) and see how fast it updates. The official site will update within 1 min or less, while it can take upwards of 30 min for poe.trade to update. So OBVIOUSLY they aren't using the same thing and therefore the official site isn't using the API, but rather pulling directly from the source, since you know it is 1st party it doesnt have to rely on the API. The official site did indeed have issues the first weekend of this league and GGG is aware of the API issues, but their solution seems to be making sure the official site gets priority updates and the API is throttled, which causes poe.trade to be out of date for live searches always if someone sniped the item with the official site live search. You also completely ignored the fact that many trades can be easily done by searching by recent listings, in the case of rare items that "trick" doens't work as well but using the official site does help significantly. " And they specifically answered this in the podcast, they didnt feel it was necessary anymore and its not. https://youtu.be/T9kygXtkh10?t=285
