EXP LOSS POLL
Yes, it should be in the game.
Remember when I won a screenshot contest and made everyone butt-hurt? Pepperidge Farm remembers.

With all these freezes and glitches and lags during fight - no, no and no. In ideally working game - yes. But this is not the case.

Exp loss exists to force people with weak builds/items to make better choices. You eventually while leveling hit a point where you stagnate due to deaths. You can then either come to the forums to bitch or you change your build, items, passives and stop dying.
Working as intended. |

What XP loss does:
- It punishes players with not so optimal builds, who aren't so good at playing the game and/or who didn't manage to get proper equipment. So basically those who would benefit the most from the few puny skillpoints you can still get past lvl 90. All the others don't really need them anyway as most builds are pretty much finished by then. - It punishes takings risks, experimenting and learning. It makes the endgame more boring on one side because you have to be more careful and more annoying and demotivating on the other. - It punishes the player for game bugs and crashes, server issues and connection losses. - It punishes the casual players who can't play 16 hours a day. - It keeps every Tom, Dick and Harry from reaching level 100 What it does not: - Make the game harder or better - Motivate people to "git gud" or keep playing So the only pathetic little benefit of this crap is to make some of the top players feel a little more elitist because "only they" reach lvl 100. IOW, yes, it has to go. |

I think they should remove the level barrier and let you level back down if you die with less than 10% exp in your current level.
Because dying should fucking hurt!!! Imagine the rage-quit threads when you down level and can't use your current equipment cuz your below level. lulz |

Just died to an offscreen attk (spear chuckers), was 10% from 91 (i play solo). Can get it back easy but really kills the desire to play poe.
Wow gave me 3 days on the new xpack for free, great timing :) Last edited by Chadwixx#5277 on Jun 25, 2019, 5:31:23 PM

If the reason for death could be solely attributed to the user and not a random network/game glitch, then the penalty could have a place. Unfortunately, for what appears to be a substantial proportion of the player base, the inherent problems with the game engine/network connectivity, means control over dying is not simply a bad build or some other player issue.
Fix the game engine, fix network connectivity/availability, provide a death log and then think about penalties. In the meantime, If you want some 'excitement, play hardcore. Last edited by Kellog#5737 on Jun 25, 2019, 11:54:26 PM

" Contradictions, contradictions ... " You do realize, that if there is no "punishing" in case of failure, then ... there is no risk, right ??? The only thing that makes content risky IS the penalty on death, without it the concept of risk would not even exist anymore ( apart for a handful of encounters where the portal count does actually matter ) ... SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading. Last edited by Fruz#6137 on Jun 26, 2019, 8:00:11 AM
