No ninja in pug group descriptions?

To me when i see "no ninja" that just means your loot will be ninja'd. Like when you see signs posted outside of public places that says no smoking yet theres someone smoking right beside it lol
When I group I give the players im with the benefit of the doubt if they appear to be going towards the item I just keep moving. The purpose of the system though is to give you time to pick the item up, not claim the right to it. Once the time its everyone shot.

To me if i see a group that says No Ninja-ing it usually means there is someone in the party that is a complainer and would just annoy me If joined it and just happened to pick up something that was originally his from 1 screen away.

2. As it was said earlier, FFA games generally weed out the whiners. Not always but usually

I tend to make my own games as well. If someone says a word about being ninja'd, I kick them and don't even send a chat.

FFA isn't even my favorite thing. I'd rather have instanced. But attempting to play POE any other way is just wrong headed. You end up with slow games, where people are confused, and leave loot on the ground when no one knows who it dropped for, etc, ad nauseum. It's just silly to try to play POE any other way. Even if you want to.

Strangely, the FFA parts are now growing on me. Maybe I'm only 49/51 on the no-ffa/ffa thing, now. ;-P

I avoid "no ninja" groups, not because I try to ninja everything, but because I hate listening to people whine.

I avoid FFA groups, not because I don't care about stealing items but because I respect other people.

I hate to listen to self centred children.
the no ninja groups are actually the easiest to ninja stuff because nobody goes for the loot right away

then they say give it back or I kick...oh god please don't kick me whatever will I do :D
LoL "no ninja" games names are for noob cry babies. Until they make a actual catagory/option(Never) to do so im not going to stop. I can careless about your drops but if its infront of me and time runs out its mine...^^ Plus makes people want to ninja you even more to get a rise out of you.

So, I been playing in groups and pretty much most people try to ninja each other, almost like its a mini game within the game.

I don't mind to much since it seems there is no other option, and it seems the best approach in PUGs is for everyone to ninja. And I don't even know if thats the right term, but you get the idea.

I see people post groups that say you get kicked if you ninja. Should I avoid these groups? Are they going to be super anal about the game so its not even fun? Or are these good groups where people actually share loot?

I haven't been grouping enough to really know, and I assume its all different accross the board but was interested on some feedback on this.

It seems like there is so much dropping in a group of 6 that sticks together that it doesn't even really matter that much....

trolling or just not very bright?

Pretty much sums up the quality of these types of players. Self centred dumbarses.

What they need to do is just remove the name of who the item is for so no one really knows who was supposed to be picking up the item and then no one can complain.

This!

I would even take it a step further, only let the person whos name is on the item see the timer bar.

If an item is passed over, you have the rest of the group standing around waiting to click as soon as timer is up. Its just a click spam fest trying to be the first to grab it since everyone can anticipate when the item becomes available. If no timer was displayed to everyone else, it would be pure reaction time, creating a more 'cut-throat' feel to ninja looting ;)

I can respect the fact that you choose to respect other people. However, I believe respect should be earned, not granted arbitrarily.

And self centered children? arent they the ones crying about not getting 'their' loot? How does playing the game the way it was designed make anyone a 'self-centered child'?

I hate FFA loot and would much prefer instanced, but if I make a group I always put FFA in the title so everyone knows the deal, it's just easier than dealing with drama.
