Too much Potion-ness

its just for early game really you can tell that later on once you spec and so on the gameplay will be very different
I have to quote solistus and RockerFox, judging based of what I saw so far they expressed my feelings so exactly I don't feel the need to add anything.
mmmmm..potions...

If GGG chickens made an action RPG, what would it be called? Path of Eggxile, a Peck 'n' Slash RPG.
Why was the helmet spluttering? It was a coif.

Another vote for "brilliant design".

It's not just pots with hp/mana.
They are, as many before have said, part of your itemization through buffs etc.

Also, this system removes one of my big annoyances in Diablo.
A long streak of the right type of potions to refill your belt as well as the management of keeping track of when to pick up to refill and when to bypass to minimize inventory "overflow". :)
The current flask system is really great. It'll be interesting to see how late game flasks work and how people will itemise their flask slots (e.g. more buffs vs hp/mana pots).

Currently I feel you should get more uses per flask without refilling (i.e. increase max charges or reduce charges used per consumption) but to reduce the number of charges you get per kill to balance it out. Then again that's just my opinion with the game as it is - which is obviously likely to change a fair bit over the coming months.
99% of suggested changes would make the game easier. Thats why only 1% of suggested ideas are even worth considering.

I love the current system, in most games i'm too greedy to drink any potions because i feel like i need to 'save' them for when i need them more later. I find myself drinking potions in PoE much more frequently, which speeds up the gameplay considerably as i don't have to run off and wait for my life regen to heal me up.
Shoep - Default league Ranger
Peohs - Any other class or character i play.
Jhuvik - My Marauder
Merialeth - My witch

Halloo,

I had a chance to play a bit in the open beta wknd and had a great time. One thing that did bug me a bit in my playtime(and in watching some gameplay on the youtoobs) is potion availability and the dependence of some classes on them.

To me potion use is a bit of a "crutch" in game design and popping one every 5-10 seconds in tough fights just kinda cheapens the whole experience.

Thoughts?

I disagree. It's just another mechanic of the game. I don't understand your reasoning.
The potion system = epic, I played ranged @ the stress weekend and I used crit potions, movement speed potions and life+mana potions. It's awesome, "one does not simply touch the potion system"

Peace

When you get to higher difficulties, things get a bit harder and regular monsters can hit a ranged class down to 10% with just two hits. Potions become something you dance around while only being able to take a hit or two before a single mistake made by you ends up in dying.

Potions could use a slight nerf or the monsters a slight buff, but overall this potion mechanic is INFINITELY better than what was in D1 and D2, and now in D3.
it´s odd. And odd is fun and exciting i say :)
