Why is this game so easy?

It's still pretty challenging.

But I gotta say, I used to play from when it was in open beta and a few years after that, then my PC just couldn't take the game anymore and stopped playing for a few years and now I'm back on PS4 and loving it.

It's so much easier now, that's no lie. Back when I played, there wasn't mines, atlas and a lot of other stuff with the crafting. All end game was back then was maps and it was hard as hell to sustain maps from levels 76 - 80 and you rarely ran 80's unless you were paying for them.

Now it's easy to sustain 82 maps and its much easier to craft good gear now, I love what they did to the game!

Damn, this whole time I've been playing games for fun. No one told me 'hard' was the metric. I feel so foolish :)

You may just not enjoy the game. BOTW was one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had. It's not a challenging game.

Path of Exile is still challenging for me, but I have a lot of fun playing. And I have a lot to learn still.

Yeah let’s make a walking simulator with mobs that cannot fucking do anything to you. Then put a couple end game bosses so whenever somebody complains about difficulty of the game the community just bashes that person and tells him to kill that boss before he voices his opinion

Play Hc and see how easy the game is...

It's not so easy for me because I'm playing for two years and only managed to defeat the normal atziri and yellow elder until now.

Play HC SSF with killing (uber) Elder, (uber) Atziri and Shaper, troll.

But yea, i agree with you, softcore is pretty easy.

That's just how this game works. Run around over-geared blowing up trash in yellow maps without even thinking while all the challenging/interesting stuff is gated behind layers of rng and rarely worth running anyways because the rewards are usually worth less then the cost of the run. It's excellent game design.

HC : bullshit. ALT+F4 is an option and every egotisitcal "I'm hardcore bro" person who plays it. May as well play SC and put their inflated ego back in the drawer...

SSF : YES...and only because GGGs crafting system (even post crafting bench) is the core object of difficulty when going through content. No currency, no gear upgrades, no defenses, no damage, no life -> You're going to die to some level of BS...

If you want to SSFHC, it's still 50% since ALT+F4CORE, but at least you cut one leg off.
