GGG listens to who they think can grow their business the most.

Sometimes that is streamers, sometimes that is players from other games, and sometimes it is players that already play.

That is filtered through their own ideas and biases and technological and resource limitations.

Are we really in a period where GGG used to listen, and now they dont, to existing players?

Maybe. There used to be a lot more communication from lead devs on design direction, and its almost dropped to zero.

This is patently true. In a recent presentation Chris Wilson, in so many words, said this very thing - that streamers and other high end players are important to show content that others aspire to reach.

Because money makes the world go round! The streamers have destroyed the game and yet ggg worships them as gods. Damn streamers and their idiotic races. Damn poe and the speed meta racing feel.

i wonder what happen to the guy who comes up with ideas of the skill tree, skill gems, link sockets mechanic and every other core game stuff.

like he ran out of idea?
or he got betray and got kick out of the company?
or the core idea get stole from some random dude that not even on the company in the first place?

i mean that guy is like genius 500IQ what happened to him? why all of the ideas come out of this company recently seem stupid as fuck.

I will tell you what happened. PoE stopped being "niche" game for hardcore players and started aiming for "casual scrub players" dumbing down this game and making it easier with each league.
