Stash Tab Pricing
They made $100,000,000 on this model... they're not going to scrap it on the advice of some of their fans.

" Stupid argument. Robbing a bank is also profitable but that doesn't mean that everyone should be robbing banks. Besides, most of the money they have "made" is from donations and charity. Not for "selling" a product. |

" Most of the money they made was from Tencent. Can't realy say selling your soul is charity. [3.9]Hasunic's Toxic Rain Trickster: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2712106

" Haha yeah, I agree. I more referring to the business model over time and not the sellout. |

" This is an awful argument. Is GGG somehow a bank robber in this instance? Even if they are, what does everyone else not needing to do it have to do with this situation? Either way, it doesn't even address his main point which is exceptionally valid and you seem to have missed it; they made a lot of money doing things their way -- both from supporters and their eventual sellout. Why would they change unless they have indications that things are no longer working. You know what would be a good indication for us that things are not working? They change their approach that they've stubbornly adhered to. They've not done that yet, so the only real indicator that things are still working still exists. As for the "donations and charity" comment, do you think they were just sitting on the side of the road with their hand out and a sign saying homeless, please help and god bless? No. People supported and donated to them because they believed in their game, their vision and the product they've put out. I support because I enjoy the game and would like them to continue to succeed so that I can continue playing the game. F2P purists would do well to remember that they play this game because supporters subsidize them through paying more than than they take from the game. Thanks for all the fish! " Well duh, that was the point. To say that money simply doesn't mean everything. " Yeah why would they change. Why would a beggar stop begging and get a half time job if begging is more profitable. That makes no sense right? It's not like the company has grown large enough to stand on it's own feet? Keep it in kickstarter mode forever because the profits are high is a sad and poor excuse of an argument. " No, not a homeless. I would compare the model to a grandson who keeps bringing you handmade drawings that he wants you to buy (supporter packs). Meanwhile at home, his parents pay him for chores like taking out trash (gameplay), cleaning his room (engine performance) and being a good boy in general (game balance) but it's more profitable for him to ignore all that and simply dump a bunch of drawings at grandmas house every 13 weeks. :P |

The freeloaders are the only reason why this game still exists. It's why F2P is vaiable… Those "freeloaders" keep the game viable for you people to play. Otherwise, it would be dead, and you'd just stop paying and complain "why should I pay for stuff in a dead game." Amazing the amount of ignorance on display here. What kind of economy would the game have if those players disappeared?
The basic conveniences offloaded to the cash shop does seem a bit ridiculous. Characters look like ass, unless you dump money into the cash shop. You have barely any stash space. The game inundates you with mats/currency/loot in an attempt to exhaust it as quickly as possible, and funnel you to the cash shop - unless you manage it like a part time RL job. The game was nice enough, but I also quit because of the stash space and the prices for the stash tabs - on top of the frustrating levels of micromanagement that goes into dealing with it. "Unfortunately," fun is my #1 priority when playing these games. Seems like PoE is a lot more than that, for some here. So defensive... chill... Delivering an awful user experience and then telling people to buy "better" from the shop is definitely a viable business model - especially in this day and age - but don't poo poo on people simply because they don't want to subscribe to it. |

It's nice to know which ones to focus on. When they go on sale, do they all go on sale at once or do specific stash tab features go on sale at a time? I'll follow advice and go for currency and premium tab and see how that plays out. Also, right now I am keeping all the gems I find (not duplicates) as I like to explore how skills and support skills play together.

Of late, they've been putting them all on sale at once... except for the newest one which hasn't been on sale yet. You don't want that one anyway. It's just a showcase for something you don't even want to show off.
