Stash Tab Pricing

Holy god damn hell. I am all about supporting developers and I understand the value in micro transactions, but if I were to go all out and buy everything in ONLY THE STASH TAB SECTION... I would be spending well over $100. This is a quality of life purchase, not new content! I came over from D3 and am loving everything this game has to offer. I want to support it, but prices like this make me not want to bother with in-game purchases. Does anyone know if these prices ever drop to a reasonable amount?

To re-iterate... I am 100% supportive of developers charging for these options, but it has to be more affordable than this.

Well, PoE started as 2 (?) Acts, expanded to 10, plus maps, Delve, Incursions etc. added on, it easily counts as a basic SP game ($60) with two expansions worth of content ($20-$30 each) so $100 is a reasonable and optional amount to pay for the convenience. You can also wait for the Stash Tab Sale every month or so, I think they are like 40% off.

don't pick up more loot than you want/need otherwise it's time for that wallet.

oh and dont keep maps, either run them or destroy them or pay for the premium tab to be able to post on trade.. or use some 3rd party website it's up to you.

oh and don't pick too much currency either.. unless you plan to sell it quickly.

oh and don't pick too many uniques either, alt tab constantly to check prices on poe trade.

or keep spaming alts and pass gear/currency/maps whatever.

my honest advise, I have plenty to say about the joke of opinions when people tells me that the game is f2p when it should be b2p.

I would say currency tab and a pack of premium and you are good to go.

Afterwards you could add Map Tab and whatever you might find convenient.

Stash tab sales happen pretty frequently. Wait for one, get your self 6 Premium(!) Tabs and a Currency Tab (and a map tab if you're feeling like it) and you're good to go.
Most of those are like you said quality of life features and you really don't need them all. Hell I'm playing since 2014 or something and I don't own all of them.

There's a reason why a lot of games that started out buy to play and/or subscription went free to play a few years back. It's not because the staff wanted to work for free and they love giving stuff away.

You're going into the game with your eyes open. You can play for free/cheap as long as you want to, or move on if it's not worth spending money on. Just be honest with yourself about what your spending limit is, even if it's $0.

I've spent thousands of $ over the last 30-odd years buying games that I played for an hour and tossed aside because I didn't like them. I've played dozens of free to play games and only if I had fun and felt they were worth playing then I spent a couple $100 supporting them. Which is a better way to spend your money?

Thanks for the feedback, all. It's nice to know which ones to focus on. When they go on sale, do they all go on sale at once or do specific stash tab features go on sale at a time?

I'll follow advice and go for currency and premium tab and see how that plays out.

Also, right now I am keeping all the gems I find (not duplicates) as I like to explore how skills and support skills play together. Is it worth my time to keep all the gems or should I start being a little more selective with the gems I pick up?

Don't keep gems without quality that is not empower, enlighten or enhance (These are special and cannot be bought at vendor).

Vendors sell gems, there's a library in act 3 that sell a lot of gems and in act 6 after the first quest a vendor is selling all gems in the game (Except empower, enlighten and enhance)

Stash tabs are usually every 2nd or 3rd week. It's something like 20% off.

Get a lootfilter, if you are not using one and don't hoard up shitty items.

Keep uniques that are worth keeping and sell the rest for alchemy orbs.

it's depend on what you really want mostly, I play with very strict lootfilter and only tells me something either very good or good-possible good.. for the simple fact that I will not buy any space whatsoever so since you will buy space, I suggest you don't get that strict lootfilter.

there's one that you can custom yourself if you google 'poe lootfilter' or just 'lootfilter' the first website is the website with the lootfilter then there's plenty of youtube videos around explaining how it works and install.
