Winter Orb is probably one of the dumbest skills in PoE history

It's great. I hope they release tons of skills similar than it.

" No. the OP's logic my logic is brain-dead skills that are one click and run per half a map, auto-target, no thinking required that trivialize literally everything - are bad for the game. I hope the melee skill rework doesn't turn melee into this. This is not the Path Of Exile I signed up for. " Ah yes, the other braindead skills that play the game for you. You might get your wish: this game is now out on two consoles and it's blatantly obvious that it's being "optimized" for console play. |

" If melee is reworked to be as broken as Winter Orb I'll uninstall without even thinking. Projectiles and spells in this game already make it about as deep and hardcore as a mobile cookie-clicker. Melee is the only thing in PoE that makes it marginally exciting. Last edited by ChefoSLR#7948 on Apr 27, 2019, 7:51:21 AM

" But that wintry dome! And those sweet puffs of ice! Once you taste the orb, you'll feel the snare, But none will cry, Beware! Beware! |

" The racer junkie addicts don't care for playing a real arpg and having to think. No strategy desired, just let me smash & dash my way to 100 every 13 weeks. Gotta get my racing fix (only thing that matters). Going through the motions racing this way is the true sign of a computer game addict. This will eventually be GGG's downfall (junkie burnout) and kill PoE. So sad. I see the upcoming melee changes as just another change to move melee into the smash & dash skills to blitzkrieg through all zones/maps in the next race to 100. So whatever the primary melee skill is, it will have a secondary component to do massive AoE damage (like Tectonic Slam does now). More brain dead (automatic pilot) racing play style, no thinking required. If GGG doesn't make real melee do massive AoE to compete with ranged skills but just overpowers them on single target dps and tankiness then it will relegate these skills for boss killing only. Made for party play only or in solo we play 2 builds in parallel, the ranged/AoE build to run the map, then switch to the melee build to kill the end of map boss. "You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..."
Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration. The perfect solution to fix Trade Chat: www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2247070 |

We get it. Really.

" Apparently some don't. They just want their one click fun, and I understand that. I use some one click skills too. Today I spent hours burning some older series Guardian maps with two clicks (Vortex & Cold Snap), and one click (Arc Trap) respectively. But Auto-pilot skills are not good for the game in the long run. They are good for the racers and cute dog streamers, until they run out of whatever stuff I_NO is on, and get bored. Winter Orb currently is the pinnacle of auto pilot. Distilled down to a single mouse press every 10 seconds, and you clear the map and kill the boss. An I win button. I'm an ARPG player, enjoying a mix-and-plan play style and using different crazy combinations. It's what keeps me in the game, in the long run. I hope I still qualify as this game's target audience. " Dude, u should try to take a break from the game and forum. You are getting delusional. |

" Exactly. It isnt fun, if one skill obliterates everything without much investments, and another struggles killing stuff even with 5x investments. If both (all) skills do their job properly - then it's fun indeed. " Whiners dont ask to kill the skill/build (unless it's unfair mechanics like invulnerability or instant leech). They only ask to make it on par with others. GGG are ones who actually KILL skills/builds due to their shallow insight. Blame GGG, not whiners. " Then why you dont advocate to buff other skills to be on par with yours? It would make no harm to your skill, right? Or not? IGN: MortalKombat
