Diablo 4 Would Kill Path of Exile
You think that D4 will be cheap? LOL. I know guys that spent 20K on D3 in old days. Just wait with all the modern monitization schemes actvision/Bethesda/EA/Ubisoft etc now employ.
You only need like 6-7 tabs here to be #1 SSFHC player as alia proved many times. So like 20-60 bucks if you buy a pack too. Tencent hasnt started raking us over coals, yet. Although the preying on gambling personalities is pretty un-"ethical" since they took over (mystery boxes)- D4 will have that and so much more. Git R Dun! " Yep, they already confirmed there's gonna be MTX, stash tabs and shit. Which is fine with me as long as it's not P2W, but yeah there will be people who will spend four digits on D4, I guarantee it. GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

" It's not really fine by me. Manipulating people is pretty uncool. Should it be illegal no I'm a libertarian after all - however there is no such thing as a ethical micro-transaction unless it's a straight donation for zero in return. All the others rely on psychological pressure(s) or addiction. The worst of course is PTW though. D4 will have that I bet too as D3 did. Git R Dun! I watched pretty much all the panel video I can find on D4 and the engine just looks insane to me. Dynamically add players to and from areas and the "Seamless Exploration" tech right now just looks awesome. PoE right now is built almost entirely on top of loading screens with some assets being lazy-loaded in areas themselves.
1/2 this thread is people bitching about Blizzard as a company. It's the new D4 team and the talent on that team that will, as this thread suggests, kill PoE at least from a technical standpoint if 4.0 does not have an answer for some of this seamless engine tech I am seeing from the coverage. So if 4.0 does not feature even 1/2 the tech that's baked into D4, good luck with 4.0 features piled on top of what we have right now. I mean you can see how much of a struggle it is for them to add assets on the fly within a map tileset itself so I'm not holding my breath for anything even remotely close to what I'm seeing in D4 to exist in PoE. 9 more days. ✰CARD✰ The Survivalist
I can’t buy any more big supporter packs because the forum only supports showing 7 legacy tags. |

On the topic of D4 being "the PoE killer". I doubt that there will we be to big if a long term effect. Blizzard has always tried to make their games for casual gamers and lest just say PoE is not that.
I love the complexity of PoE and trying to figure out how builds work, but I don't think D4 will have that. Also the D3 end game was less then boring. I haven't heard anything about the D4 end game and I think the end game will make or break D4. |

please correct me if i'm wrong but my info is that the people who made diablo 1 and 2 dont work at blizzard anymore. all that is left is a group of people trying to profit off someone else's legacy/idea.

What i am praying for is that they do not try to mimick any of the abysmally diluted multiple rng walls crap of poe or that RMT orbs spam that they call crafting
Gives streamers & friends queue priority and leaves supporters who spent hundreds $ packs in the 100k queue.

" You're taking for granted that every player out there, is VERY unhappy with PoE's engine and performance. That's not really the case, though. PoE runs fairly decent on my system, even though I still drop down to 60-70 FPS once in a while. So the performance is more than tolerable. And 2-3 seconds load times will never bother me. If the average performance and average load times are what I have to pay for some in-game depth, interesting itemization and actual customization, so be it. While PoE doesn't have bad graphics, graphics will never be on my "top 5" list of important reasons to play a game. Not even on a top 10 list. A good game is FAR more than performance and graphics. And PoE is a good game - on many levels. While Diablo 4 will probably be a very good game, EVERYTHING points towards the "fact" that it will offer FAR less depth, itemization and customization than PoE - just like Diablo 3 did. And those 3 reasons are VERY important to many PoE players. Maybe the 3 most important reasons for them being here. Diablo will never steal those players in the long run. Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile. Last edited by Phrazz#3529 on Nov 7, 2019, 10:41:49 AM

" This is pretty gratuitous. Chris literally had to make and apology post, and detail performance issues one week into Blight, which they have been trying to fix ever since. Console still is a performance disaster. I have NEVER seen a ps4 game with more dashboard /blue screen crashes. EVER. PoE is old. It doesn't have much upside, and we have likely already seen the glory days of PoE pass (and they were glorious). Sure there may be some lipstick applied to the pig with 4.0, and maybe a league in between that you spend a couple dozen hours. D4 (while still a ways away) will be superior in many ways, and enjoy a much larger base, and secure monetization. Anyways we are close to hearing what GGG has to say at exilecon, but I struggle to imagine what they could say that would change my mind about the future of the core game.
