Diablo 4 Would Kill Path of Exile

As someone playing ARPGs since Diablo 1 ...

I don't believe a second that Diablo 4 can have a chance without copying the very best aspects of poe.

Agreed, tbh D4 has the time they need to rip every aspect off from their competitors that they like and iterate on them. If they go for MMO D3 its going to sell well but the reception won't be great post release.

It'll be interesting to see how pre-orders stack up compared to D3 though, I know i won't automatically preorder anymore but I suspect their numbers will be better than ever because of how desperate people get when blizzard are involved.

I mean if they announced SC3 i'd pre order that :p maybe im just as guilty

Real hardcore players will always play poe. Diablo will always be arcade mode. They made it clear that most of their stuff will favor the console type of gameplay. I grew with d2 but now that I am a mature person I simply can't bother with brain dead games like d3 where you press 4 butons and change your build in town when you want.

And we are talking about Blizzard my dudes... They will make a great game and destroy it after in a couple of months by not giving a crap about their players.

P.S. I forgot to also tell you that it will be released in 5 years kappa

How is D arcade...where melee players actually have to be melee tanky and great in parties to actually tank the content like it should be not 1 shooting entire screen and getting 1 shot back due to reflect or some stupid mechanic.

And stop predicting when it will come out, because no one actually knows =_=.

Plus we need remastered D1 and D2 in D4 engine thank you.
GGG thank you for all the great things you are doing. You have combined every element of all other great Rpg's and joined them together as one Diamond, that will shine Forever.

This is coming straight from the heart <3

Open world PvP will draw a lot of people in

No way.
Imagine your average casual player which barely understands how even such simplisitc game works (aka target playerbase). He launches game, has some brainless fun with ez mode content carefully handcrafted to make him feel great and cause wow moments, goes out of the city and gets corpse camped in PvP by tryhards which already max level/full twink items. Hardcore camped. What do you think hes gona do? Would he put a fight in a struggle to overcome difficult obstacles?
Nah hes gona quit game and probably never log in again.

I don't think it's a secret that PoE thrives on the lack of real competition. But why we have to hyperbole it and use words like "kill", "dead" and whatnot, I will never understand. Diablo 4 and PoE can co-exist. Will PoE suffer? Sure. Will it die? Doubtful.

But, I've come to peace with the fact that this community can't discuss anything without hyperboling everything into eternity, while seeing everything black or white. There's no middle point with today's kids. No grey area. It's either/or.

But yesterdays and yesteryears kids have always done either or haven't they ? countries with 2 party politics etc. Either or is kinda our nature. We tend to shit the bed when too much choice is offered.

As for the op, people need something to talk about, so speculating about a game several years off is standard fare.
Kill is pretty extreme, will it take users? Yea definitely it's a new game that's in direct competition, of course it will. How much is the question, and we're not really gonna have a good idea of that until we actually know something concrete.

Personally I'm not going to trust any of Blizzard's promotional material for it, because literally nothing in Diablo 3's "gameplay trailer" was actually in the game.

Let's be honest. There simply hasn't been an arpg good enough to top PoE's constant release of content.

How would diablo 4 be different? Bit confused as to how this is supposed to change anything.
Seeing as Diablo 4 is the same cooldown bonanza bullshit as D3, no this won't even scratch PoE remotely.

Looking at the 3 second duration shapeshifts for the druid. That's not the druid people want.

Are you looking forward to skill 'rotations' ? I am not. I want diablo, not world of warcraft in isometric perspective.
PoE trade may be a hot mess, but at least there is trade. Diablo 4 trade will be limited, bind on trade and bind on pickup. Nope, ill stick with the hot mess that actually has trade.
