" Just about everyone is aware that PoE doesn't play nice on AMD gpu. I used to have a Radeon R9 270 gpu and had to totally skip Breach League because every breach would flatline my framerate. Even dialing down all the quality didn't help. I even put up a thread then documenting a map that played smooth and nice but when I would get anywhere in close proximity to the breach symbol my fps would crash. Backing off just a little further from it and framerate was normal again. That was some seriously bad performance problems there. So I never was able to run a single breach. Then I was gifted a Geforce 1060 AMP! 6 GB video card for Christmas 2017. Yep, my first breach found worked very well, and all breaches still play well today. GGG is woefully bad on stating what the hardware requirements should be for getting acceptable QoP (fps that we could live with). Holy shit GGG! I just googled to see where they have the minimum hardware bar set: 1. Geforce games-application page: seriously wrong (GGG get that info updated). 2. Steam store: better but still not best for Synthesis on Windows 10 (8 GB ram listed). 3. Direct google results of "path of exile system requirements 2019" System Requirements
No way anyone would/could want to play PoE with only 4 GB ram. Windows would be constantly VM swapping and play would be a super frustrating nightmare (huge train wreck). Come on GGG, get with you own program and update with specs that are realistic for players to get any kind of decent performance. If new players tried PoE on only 4 GB ram they'd very quickly quit in disgust "this game has dog shit performance" and never return. "You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..." Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration. " With my simple observations of the PoE memory footprint it is clear that 8 GB ram won't cut it with PoE: Synthesis League. So yes, going forward I'll need to upgrade my gaming rig to 16 GB ram or probably seriously look at a total replacement (some of the Dell Xeon systems that get cycled out of corporate use every 3 years are super cheap). Right now I'm borderline on playing Synthesis in 8 GB but I still use Win7 that I have paired down OS services to get maximum free memory for PoE. Most players won't do that (just run stock Windows 10 install or worse, services that shouldn't load at startup but do load and eat up memory) so yes, many that post "Incursions are freezing me" probably do need to move up to 16 GB ram. No one should be disputing (bitching) about this. My biggest issue against GGG is that they are moving large league mechanics (like Betrayal) into core and then code new large Synthesis mechanic without any concern for how much ram all this code/data requires. Then when the performance problem posts hit the forums GGG still doesn't respond with any official news post to address this and talk about the need for more memory to get best QoP (fewest times of lag or freeze). GGG is hurting themselves by remaining silent on this and all the shit storm about Incursion is putting PoE: Synthesis in a very bad light. "You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..."

I have 16 GB ram and 4 gb video ram 970GTX, Game freezes when synicates spawn.
I did not run any intensive apps in background. Other online gems runs fine. This game is a mess in optimization, FPS drops even solo, when I can play diablo 3 in 4 player group and runs fine, and instances loads in few seconds, if not imstantly. The loading screen is atrocious like Red dead redemption, but unlike red dead redemption, which load a open world and only have loading screen first time you started, and looks super detailed, POE looks like a game release pre 2010, & still lags playing solo. Most shockingly, enemies can attacked you before you done loading! I have same PC, ISP & the last serious league I play is abyss and it didn’t lag like this. I have a brand new computer and have verified my internet.
Game lags so badly I gave up this league and went back to standard. Lol, go fig the game instant freezes there as well. After 4, almost 5 years of playing I've about given up on this game. Nothing works any longer. Pages are filled with complaints about the poor optimization of this league. I hope GGG is having lots of fun counting all the mtx sales. (PS mtx will lag you even worse. Enjoy!) |

" I don't even want to think about playing this with that card. " This. Brand new computers have lag but play everything else fine. Expensive gaming rigs have lag but play everything else awesome. I don't know what GGG is smoking but it has got to be the strong stuff. Censored.

" I appreciate quite a few have bemoaned the performance when using AMD hardware but I can honestly say I've never had any serious issues. Sure, with my hardware, I don't maintain 150 fps but I also don't have any issues maintaining ~30/40 fps even during difficult situations. That includes Interventions, Breaches etc. It's not ideal but I can still play the game reasonably well. " To be fair, the recommended Syetem Requirements on Steam are: Recommended: OS: Windows 7 SP1/Windows 10 Processor: x64-compatible, quad core, 3.2GHz or better Memory: 8 GB RAM raphics: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1050 Ti or ATI Radeon™ RX560 or better DirectX: Version 11 Network: Broadband Internet connection Storage: 20 GB available space Additional Notes: Solid state storage is recommended |

An arpg from 2013 requiring 16 gb of RAM, while Skyrim takes 1gb? Ok lol...
