GGG is ZERO help so let's get serious on why some players have major lags with Synthesis

Which part of people do not have the same issue with other games do you not understand.

I never have seen a game with so much white knight as PoE.

what does that have to do with anything? each game is different and requires different things. poe is known to be very demanding on PC's more so than other games

edit- i guess you already fixed it,so why keep blaming the game when it was clearly on your end?

This is what I did and it STOPPED:

First method:

Uninstalled PoE, reinstalled via Steam. Put in --nopreload in Steam, it stops this fucking bs but it takes a LONG time to load every fucking map.

But yeah it will work. No more lag, no more deaths.

Second method (I believe this comes from Paldamus, if I'm wrong pls correct):

Launch Poe, no --nopreload or anything appended to shortcut. I did this through Steam but no reason think it has to be through Steam. Go into task manager, details, find Poe, and click on affinity. Turn off all processors except one, then go off and get a drink or pee or something.
Go back in and turn on all the processors again. Then set priority to High.

Wait a few seconds before you go into a map or something. Runs fine.

Im 100% sure you are a troll. How is it on his end if the devs fucked up this game with the synthesis update for many people?
And pls stop say that you dont have problems with the game cause its not an fucking argument. Its the same like i would tell someone who is starving that me and the majority of the humans have food, stop complain about it.
Pls go troll somewhere else, but not here where peopel discuss about problems with their game.
i'm not trolling, stop raging because your toaster can't run the game anymore. its not my fault. the game runs fine for me and i will keep saying it because its feedback for GGG,that not everyone is lagging

Im not raging, im only bored cause of your shit argumentation. You say the game is not lagging for you and everyone with problems should stfu. Are you 10 or why you think only your opinion matters? And what kind of feedback is it, when you tell people they must buy a new PC to play this game properly(some of them have a HighEnd PC, you would know it if you woudl read this and other threads) And explain me one thing, how your "feedback" will help GGG to fix this problem?
On the memory issue that I looked at I had turned off my virtual memory and in my tests got up into the 90 percentage range used of my 8 GB of memory. I forgot to turn it back on and later when I had more tabs open in my browser I started up PoE, logged in, and when I loaded a build that starts in act 10 PoE crashed as it was attempting to allocate more memory to load assets and Windows couldn't swap (browser PoB, whatever) out of memory. A crash dialogue window popped up, when I closed it PoE did not gracefully shut down, it hung Windows 7 Pro by blanking my screen. With no keyboard response Ctrl-Alt-Del didn't work. The zone background music kept playing so the cpu was still executing PoE code, but without video or keyboard my only recourse was to do a hard reset and reboot, let Windows run ChkDsk, and immediately re-enable virtual memory.

This does prove my theory that 8 GB is not enough memory to run the entirety of PoE in memory with Windows and other normal things like our browser or PoB without Windows using the swap file to dump something out of memory at some point. This could be when an Incursion is triggered and PoE needed to allocate more memory for syndicate assets, Windows interrupts PoE to do memory content swapping, and thus a major pause/freeze of PoE occurs. Those of us with SSDs experience less of a pause than players with mechanical hard drives, but either way Incursions require more memory for assets and pushes the total over the 8 GB threshold. Obviously this is bad for those of us with only 8 GB of ram since we don't ever want Windows to have to write/read the swap file while playing as that will kill frame rates.

The bottom line on all this is that with Betrayal now a core mechanic in Synthesis the whole of memory required by PoE is large enough that now 8 GB isn't enough so we will need to upgrade to 16 GB (you always want equal pairs of memory for max cpu access speed). PoE is now too big to fit into 8 GB with Windows 7, 8, or 10 plus be able to {Alt}-Tab to look something up online, go to PoB, etc. at the same time.

I think GGG is very bad for not making an official news post covering this subject and explaining to all non-techie players that to get the maximum QoP we must have 16 GB of ram in our gaming rig.
"You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..."
Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration.

I think this is pretty good advice these days. I usually run 16GB but I had a bank go down, so now I'm using two 4GB sticks until I can afford replacements.

For what it's worth, below are the numbers from my system - note I'm not playing the league (not playing at all right now). The top shows the numbers at the launch of PoE and the bottom shows the numbers after running several maps and finally an Intervention.

My system is pretty old and weak:

AMD FX8350
AMD HD7870GHz
8GB RAM - Currently
SSD
Windows 10 - 1803

there is no "problem" to be fixed you kids just need to figure out why your toaster is lagging and fix it yourselves because GGG wont do anything so instead of trying to argue with me go do some troubleshooting like others are doing
