also, the game is SUPPOSED TO BE competitive

lolmao

this is a singleplayer action rpg. you hack and slay your way through hordes of monster ai. how in the holy world of fuggggg is this game supposed to be competitive? who can farm more currency in the shortest amount of time or who can reach lvl 100 faster? wow, insane competitiveness.

lolwut?

1. it's not single player
2. you even mentioned ladders
3. hey, remember races?
4. pvp

Rob, stop trolling the poor boy. Everything you mention is secondary if not tertiary to everything core to the game.

Also, to the OP, what are the statistics of the number of people each league who kill Uber Elder/Shaper? Serious question, and, yes, I am too lazy to search.

It is small, however, there is no question to that. So let me ask you this one, simple question - to what gain would GGG increase the difficulty of an encounter that most don't see, but still may aspire to see? If you make it even HARDER, will they stop even aspiring?
lolz.

i post 4 facts that refute the silly and obviously false claim. yup, most be trolling! facts are trolling in (current year)!

i am living in the movie idiocracy.

you have no facts and you know it. you have hot air devoid of any content. that's all.

BS and you know it. the vast majority (as in 99+%) plays this game as if it was singleplayer with some trading in between. this game fails horribly in creating a viable multiplayer environment and it clearly shows.

nobody cares or competes in this "competitive" ladder except insane nolifers and streamers who make like 0.001% of the playerbase. the rest is just gearing up and leveling heroes and fun builds and enjoying slaying monsters. this is an arpg after all.

yeah, they must have been such a huge success that ggg flat out removed them without any kind of compensation. again, probably a "competitive feature" where nobody except the nolifers and streamers even tried to "compete". a useless feature.

4. pvp

nobody plays pvp in poe and you know it.

lolz @ facts not being factual because some guy doesn't like them - not even because he doesn't believe them. it's like a fallacy on top of a fallacy. poe 2019 - fallacy sandwich edition.

(also, like i said, it's SUPPOSED TO BE competitive. reading mastery. the game straying from that was precisely MY point)

There are 1275 chars in Synthesis SSF HC higher than lvl 90 and 3450 more in Syntehsis SSF and those leagues are solely designed to proof and show off individual and build performance.

Not to mention all the dudes who wanna be THE GUY but cant get 90 due to being new or whatever. Obviously not everyone goes for rank 1 or page 1, its already satisfying for some players to be in the top 500 or in the top 10 of their ascendancy or whatever.

There is no reason to choose such a SSF league over trade leagues other than having a fair racing environment and proving that a build or individual doesnt need to buy bosses, challenges or uses cheap tricks like xp leech group play or whatever.

It is safe to say that all those people got a competitive attitude because else they would not feel the urge to seperate themselves from the rest.

Then you also got the racers in trade leagues, their numbers is debateable.

These numbers sound more like 10% of the playerbase than 0.001%, lol.

Path of Exile is an online Action RPG set in the dark fantasy world of Wraeclast. It is designed around a strong online item economy, deep character customisation, competitive PvP and ladder races. The game is completely free and will never be "pay to win".

sorry facts hurt your feelings.

I am lvl 92 this league and I stopped playing weeks ago without even thinking about looking up where I stand xp wise compared to others.. I couldnt care less about some imaginary "competitive" ladder, but I ofc do acknowledge that some people do care about it. and obviously the "0.001% stuff is always hyperbole, but you get what I mean.

the vast majority of us who play this game love to gear up, make a well functioning hero and go slay some monsters. that's the whole point of an arpg and I am pretty confident that almost the entire playerbase has a similar or highly comparable view when it comes to the "aims" and "goals" of a game like this.

edit: by analogy I could also say that super mario world is highly competitive because a few hundred or thousand speedrunners make a sport out of it and chase insane records while the truth stares everyone in the eyes: the game is just a fun jump n run, that's all.

some people have been playing this game so much that they cant think straightforward anymore. they need to stop being so insanely emotionally invested and come back down to earth.
