Every community is this whiny based on their forums, forums need hardcore policing to not become this and moderators are usually just policing for infractions rather than trashing garbage quality posts.

I have never seen any forum on any game that I have played where every post was about how awesome the game was...
People come to the forums to bitch. Sure, occasionally people will come here to throw some appreciation out there but generally people use the forums as a way to air out their complaints in the hopes that others will relate, or to get the attention of the devs. Personally I think this league is garbo but I still enjoy the base game so I'll just skip what I don't like and hope the next league is better. |

I'm not complaining about the game. I'm not complaining about the mechanics.
I can't play the game AT ALL DUE TO THE NEVER ENDING CONSTANT DISCONNECTS. I just want to play. It that so much to ask? |

Complaints every league are normal. However, that doesn't mean you ignore negative feedback simply because it's negative. It's not rocket science, some complaints like removing xp penalties for death are brushed aside because the majority of the player base accepts that there should be a penalty.
But negative does not mean invalid. Negative feedback in beastiary was excessive, but it did lead to a much more improved integration into the base game. This assumption that all these complaints are exaggerations is just illogical. I started in the middle of abyss, and was active in every league concluding at synthesis. I've killed uber elder solo and pretty much every notable boss in game, so it's not like I form my opinion without experiencing content. Synthesis has easily been the worst league experience for me. It has nothing to do with blizzard or complaining about everything and anything. It does have to do with a rushed product that simply dropped the ball. It's not like the sky is falling, and it's not some random streamer influence. It's literally just a combination of negative experiences that lead me to losing interest. The synthesis league mechanic itself isn't without merit - but with the primary "reward" being implicit gear that is governed by both rng and item level, anyone who's spent significant time crafting understands that in the end its ultimately a gamble. The nexus itself isn't particularly difficult to understand, but it ends up being layer upon layer of rng. Temples in incursion are also an example of an rng heavy mechanic - but those temples generally offered enough reward to sustain motivation. The nexus mechanic is basically a lot of moving parts and complexity that doesn't reward nearly enough given its convoluted nature. However, the league mechanic could be completely ignored. What made it the worst league for me is the following: The reduced map drops were simply a bad decision, likely a result of unrealistic expectations. I tried to build my map pool without trading and utilizing my understanding of atlas mechanics. I've never had so much trouble building a map pool. It's not like I couldn't have worked around it to progress with trading, but if low tiers were problematic, that was a bad sign for red tier. The nail in the coffin was the rushed integration of betrayal. Forcing a buggy encounter onto the player meant that even STANDARD players were affected. Incursion integration was delayed but it was worth it for a relatively smooth process. Betrayal mechanic was made no longer optional AND could lead to freezes very likely to kill a player. But most people won't bother reading the wall and believe what they want anyway. Yep, totally over league play.

The time for the "diablo 3 surge" was during Betrayal, not 4-5 months after Immortal got announced lol

Blizzard created some types of players:
- Those who got used with exceptional games, and never saw those level of games after (Blizzard North) - Those who started playing Blizzard games after WoW - Those who started playing Blizzard games after the shithole games direction (hots, overwatch) The first type are old, and got spoonfed with Blizzard North's quality. This is not a reality anymore, Blizzard North is long gone and actual Blizzard asked us if we dont have phones ;D The second type are carebears who totally trashed the old school MMORPG concept (from UO, Tibia, Everquest, etc). This generation forced the end of Blizzard North cause they didnt want to play a hard game, or a game with full loot, or perma-death, or whatever. They just wanted to make their raids, bg's and sometimes a meaningless open world pvp without any consequence. The third type are milleniuns, dont need to say much. They are always right and are always better, dont even think about working their asses to level up a char. Just want to enter the game, pick a pre-made character, play some matches, curse others and go away (yeah I know, LoL and Dota have a great part on this, but Blizzard embraced the wave). D3 was an event that showed us how those 3 types reacted with a bad terror arpg. Old farts hated cause it doesnt have pvp, ears, deep character progression, stupid lore, etc. WoW guys liked but after some time, without the monthly content that wow has, they lack of things to do and start raging. The third ones dont have a clue about good rpgs from the past, so they just complain cause those love to do it! I guess that the 2 first types migrated to PoE, and although the old farts got a little happier with PoE than D3, the second ones faced the same issue they had with D3.
