Bye bye POE

I would like also a way to identify when I hit a crit other than watch when I 2shot and when I 1shot a mob a more crazy/flashy animation for example it would be welcome, also agree with the more blood & blood trail point, and as I have already suggest in some other post of mine I would like to see more flashy appearance of the last boss on every dungeon, some scripted event will make the battle more exciting and I would prefer if the boss surprise/scare u in some way when u encounter it for the first-time, first time experience/impression is very important imo and they can do much more to improve this field.

On the other hand, the way that the game is structured (in terms of production, as you note) is very, very similar to Diablo. I'd rather time and resources be put towards unique weapons, armour, buffs, etc., than cinematics that I tend to skip anyway.
Is it really that hard to just take a break? I haven't played in a while because I got burnt out playing the same content, but why you got to rage?
Why make a cry thread and not mean it! Buuuu!
Does this mean I get #2 back on the ladder?

I think I tend to be the opposite type of the OP when it comes to player builds. I really like trying to find a viable path that eschews the mainstream, so called cookie cutter or overpowered builds. They don't interest me, I'd rather try and come up with something that suits my playstyle specifically and at least feels somewhat unique, even though it's likely someone else out there is trying it too.

While it's a source of frustration for the OP, I find it really great to hear that the Developers are tracking down builds and skills that trivialize the game and fixing them (some might refer to these as nerfs, but fixes is the more objectively appropriate word). Balance is key in skill-based games, without it you get what most other skill-based games have, which is the set of one or two builds that you must do, otherwise you are playing the game wrong.

Asheron's Call was probably my first example of this. It went through several stages, but when I played the game you were basically either an Unarmed Combat melee character, or an OG (Life spec) Mage. Anything else would just get demolished because these were the two builds that were objectively the best due to the benefits and synergies that existed in the game.

Don't get me wrong, synergies and the like should exist, but I think if it boils down to a very small set of viable builds that cheapens the game. I really hope GGG continues to strive for balance among the skills and passive tree so that a wider array of playstyles are viable throughout the game.

Totally agree with this. In some ways I am similar to the OP In that im taking an extended break from POE until open beta. But for different reasons... but for me they cannot nerf the OP builds quick enough.

AOF, BM et'al trivialise and cheapen what could be a gloriously complex and rewarding passive tree system. Currently for those who want to (people who ladder race/cut throat players etc) there are a few recognised power builds exactly like in mainstream MMOs. The quicker GGG address these the better.

They need to seriously tone down the Templar area of the tree, seriously buff the certain elements of the witch area and slightly buff the duelist. Marauders are about right power wise (excluding BM builds) Bow Rangers are about right, every other build and keystone should be brought in line with these two classes. Currently melee rangers, templars and certain witch builds are massively overpowered.

Likewise certain forms of defense are massively inbalanced. Armour is better than energy shield, and ES is better than Evasion. In terms of power there is no contest an armour user is always better off than a evade user. But worse than that block is better than all of them combined. Thats ones of the reasons templars are so overpowered. A marauder for example can wield a 2Hander but he forgoes speed and defensive capabilities, where as a templar can wield a staff which does similar if not more damage and has an innate block chance with the right passives.

Aside from my other concerns my biggest worry for POE is lack of balance, it just doesn't exist currently. To me its not a massive deal, I tend be a soloist. But most players enjoy PVP or co-op play and balance is a deal breaker for them. Currently the skills and passive tree need a lot of work to get them balanced properly.
I took about two months off from playing PoE but now a few of my friends and I are going to play until D3 is released. I really do love this game, it just really does need to be balanced a bit better in one way or another. I also don't know if I like skill gems. It really boils down to you using 1-2 skills. Maybe it changes at higher levels, I've only made it to 54 in Hardcore. I just stopped playing my Flicker Strike ranger a few patches ago. I deleted all my old toons. I don't know.. Also, releasing the third Act will make the game feel a bit less repetitive.

I actually think the passive tree in general is quite well balanced. Some of the skills have very clear issues for PVP (phase run+dual strike, flicker strike, etc.) and a few of the keystone passives have big balance issues in general leading to a bit too much centralisation of builds for PVE

Considering OP is currently #2 on ladder im guessing he came back.
For people who are not good at reading walls of text, here's the tl,dr version of OP:

1. He hates starting over.
2. Crying over his loved builds getting nerfed.
3. He wants his characters to be unkillable AND huge damage dealers, if he doesn't get that then the game stops being fun for him.
4. He thinks items in chaos should be guaranteed to drop with only the best modifiers.
5. His personal hate towards keystone support gems.
6. Mana management too hard for him.
7. Wants cinematic cartoony killing like Diablo 3 where you hit a human sized enemy with a shabby axe and it flies across the screen with minimum realizm but SO COOL PHYSX AND BLOOD.

And here's what i think he wanted to say with that wall of text:
"Plox add ez mode where i kill everything, nothing kills me, skills/spells are free and high level items always have good mods. kthxbb."
