Sarlaiel's DW BM Duelist Build. High life/dps/aoe/regen/block. The perfect DW build
" You mean my posts about dying in CLOSED BETA ? Yea, that's with my old 16k armor 2h weapon build. I'm flattered you went through 6 month old posts of mine though. |

" You sir have issues, theres plenty of people in this thread that said his build has helped them. It doesn't help YOU because you're too narrowminded to think for yourself, and need to be hand fed all the information before you can try something out. His build for one affected my personal build in many positive ways. If the way he tries to help people doesn't work for you MOVE ON. It's not hard. Well for you it is I guess. Okay I have been working on some builds like this, but I am a bit miffed that I just read through 14 pages and don't really get what you are doing still.
Blood magic is required, okay, and you reserve Anger, Wrath and Grace in your life. Assuming level 18 gems: Anger = 152 life Wrath = 152 life Grace = 199 life Reduced mana would fill up one RRBG 4L and give 0.73 multiplier for only 367 life reserved, no big deal. I like the fact that you are not running Unwavering Stance and IR. People don't realize that having any ES at all gives 50% chance to avoid stun (besides whatever from having enough HP/mitigation). I have a very unique blood magic caster build I use and the life>>ES regen from Zealot's Oath allows me to have ES always, so I have no problem with stun. Going pure evasion sucks but that character has 51% block chance and 34% spell block with Rathpith and stun is not an issue at all. Yeah, block doesn't always work, but as long as you have enough HP to not get 1-3 shot, a mix of everything is nice. I'm also not a fan of Resolute Technique though. It just isn't fun to me to not be able to crit. I have a dual wield sword Witch with EB, chance to freeze, 4+ APS using Dominating Blow. I respec'ed her way different after the skill tree update and am worried because her life is so low, but she mitigates through triple curses as well. I'm at the same point even though I am lower level in the 60's where I feel like I just need to up HP to an acceptable level for end-game. Mana works fine for her, but obviously you are not getting 120+ regen with this spec. I have a Marauder with a 72-point respec available too and he is in Act 1 Merciless, so this build interests me because I can just start Marauder. I would probably skip the +30 fire resist nodes, even though I see the point of it, just until I know what I end up with on gear. " I doubt that many people are going to read this thread and it probably isn't going to be so popular it will change the market much. It suggests though that the item is some rare and not a unique. I found these recently, bad roll, but if it really has something to do with damage conversion it is a possibility. He takes Lava Lash and not Ice Bite, so maybe not though. I don't really get the interplay of Added Fire support and conversion. Infernal Blow is fire and converts 50%. My guess is that Added Fire Damage wouldn't be used, because it is only adding 50% of physical and the other half is converted away. That converted fire damage, benefits from both increased physical and fire damage though. " " So, this seems like some sort of mace with the low APS, not really slow but Faster Attacks supported Cleave with Corsair swords gets you to 4 APS pretty easily. Maces give +stun duration. There are some 1.3 APS base ones with only 20% duration and either 1.05 or 1.1 APS with 40% duration. You can get stun duration as suffixes on weapons too though (+dmg is pretty much prefixes). The top two mod tiers are only ilvl 44/58 for: 26-35% stun duration or 12-15% reduced stun threshold on each weapon. You can also get these mods on a belt and -10% stun threshold from Facebreakers/Broadstroke. This belt isn't great but I kept it because I think it has every type of stun mod you can get. Of course, you can get the stun duration belt and weapon elemental damage too. I guess Cleave would apply all stun mods from both weapons, but you can't cleave with maces. Ground Slam as AOE? I just found a 15% one that looks like it gives +22% stun duration. I think quality is the same on Leap Slam. Infernal Blow is kind of weird because it has its own base crit chance listed (7%), but that is for the explosion and OP took RT, so he isn't critting. I don't really get what he is doing, but I guess I can just use my similar characters to test and see if anything seems decent. POE Skill calc gives some totals: 5.4% life regen and 221% max life is decent, plus 48% more in 7 levels. No endurance charge passives makes me not want to try it without knowing what is going on though. 46% increased attack speed +whatever from gear then +10% (multiplicative) for dual wielding and he says he is getting 2.6 APS. Assuming 10% from gear: (1.1 APS weapon * 1.56) = 1.716 * 1.1 = 1.88 1.2 results in 2.05 1.3 results in 2.23 1.4 results in 2.4 1.5 results in 2.574 APS I guess that Dual Strike averages attack speeds, if he is using that, complicating things further. There's also the increased speed on the weapon itself, up to like 26/27% on high ilvl weapons. About 20% though would be an acceptable, pretty good roll if you got everything else you wanted on the item. This is the base speed assuming +20%: 1.05 >> 1.26 1.10 >> 1.32 1.15 >> 1.38 1.20 >> 1.44 1.25 >> 1.50 1.30 >> 1.56 There's a bunch of regular maces with 1.3 base APS. Another possibility is sceptres. Opal gives 20% elemental damage and that would work for both the weapon part of Infernal Blow as well as add to the fire damage of the explosion. Opal is only 1.2 base APS but with a top notch IAS roll or more attack speed from gear, you could easily get to 2.6 APS. There's Carnal Sceptres with base 1.4 APS, so that would average 1.3 base. I don't really have any good maces or sceptres. I need to get another 5L so I don't have to mess with the sockets on my other one. Hopefully someone shares what skills are working good with this build eventually.. |

Copying builds isnt fun at all... Why dont you try for yourself? Use regrets, do your own theorycraft and you will find the perfect build that suits better for you.
The best part of this game is the infinite variety of builds and playstyles. |

" He said he is just too lazy for endurance charges but uses 4 (1 from bandit). I try this build as a base for my duelist atm and will definitely get the charges as one of not too many changes to fit my playstyle. |

yeah just started to use it, had a 6% temp in i stash, so im using both atm
thanks for the tip! have a nice day. |

" I don't know if you are talking to me or what. This is one possible respec for my marauder I made when cyclone was coming out. It is more points than he has now and I thought about some other things since then though the point was to get enough dex so that I could use the ilvl 77 rapiers I have been working on with a +59 stat Carnage Heart. 94 points swords I have: I decided to stop rolling the rapiers for now because I really need another 5L. My weapons/build are obviously more for cleave. OP made some claims about a very similar build being this huge damage stuff but his gear/skills are secret, so I am just trying to figure it out. The point of the forum is to share builds, but for some reason the key to this one is secret, so I am just trying to figure it out. It takes time and effort to get good weapons, so I don't know how much I will spend though on some shit I have no clue if it will be worth it. Whoever is using some skill besides cleave and getting numbers like this, let us know I guess. Last edited by Chypre#0921 on Mar 17, 2013, 4:06:25 AM

This might sound stupid and I might not have this figured out but since your build is focused alot around elemental damage (fire, ice) all of that. Would taking the blood drinker node be really worth it? Seeing as its only physical damage leech and not a complete life leech from every damage source.
I have experimented using this node and without it and have not noticed any difference at all with 2.92 aps, then again I haven't totally figured out your build mechanics either and I am not that high level yet either. So just from your point of view do you think its worth it towards end game phase and should be taken and why? This is WRT to using a standard 5% leech gem. " I think the 2% life leech node is worth it for nearly any build that does some physical damage. |

" If you take time to read through every post in this thread (which is a possibility that you have, seeing how you read through OP post history), you can't help seeing all of the "i am using it with cleave and this core is great", "i switched to skill X, thanks for that tree" posts. When you start thinking "what could he have used" and start actually checking out all possible skills for this build yourself (really not whole lot) is when you start appreciating posts like this for giving you some perspective to the game rather than being pidgeonholed into using skill A with support B C D and E. I strongly advise you to make a visit at your gem stash tab and put some of possibilities mentioned here into your gear slots (go to lower areas to offset gems being level 1), i guarantee you won't regret that. ign LerielF Last edited by Leriel#2435 on Mar 18, 2013, 7:30:05 AM
